OK, I had a sudden inspiration to post this. Here's a list of all the TV ratings from all over the world. I hope this helps people from all over understand the ratings someone is talking about!

Movie Ratings:
America:
G~ Anyone can see it
PG~ Parental guidence reccomended
PG13~Not allowed in if you're under thirteen, or you can have an adult with you
R~ Must have someone 18 or over with you if you're under 18
NC17~Cannot go in unless you are 17 or over

England:
U - suitable for anyone
PG - if under 12 you need an adult with you
12a - same as PG but stricter
12 - must be 12 or older
15 - must be 15 or older
18 - must be 18 or older
X - must be 18 or older, and is likely to be disturbing

Canada:
G - general viewing, family
PG - parental guidance suggested
PG13 - anyone below the age of 13 cannot get in without an adult
14A - anyone below the age of 14 cannot get in without an adult
18A - anyone below the age of 18 cannot get in without an adult (less stricted than R)
R - you must be 18 and over to view the movie


TV Ratings:
America:
Y-Young child
Y7-7 or over
PG-Young adult
TV14- Fourteen or over
R-18 or over
X-well, disturbing

may i add:

Canada:

Y- youth
G- general viewing, suitable for everyone, family
C8- children under 8 should watch with a parent
PG- parental guidance advised
PG13- content not suitable for anyone under 13
14A- content not suitable for anyone under 14
18A- content not suitable for anyone under 18
R- restricted. not suitable for anyone below the age of 18
NC17- explict content
