How to Upload Photos Using Imgur.

 

1. Make or log into your imgur account.

 

 

2. Click on your username. (Indicated by the red arrow.)

 

3. It will reveal a drop-down menu and click on "images."

 

 

4. Click the green "add images" button.

 

 

5. Browse your photos, drag/drop, or paste your image link into the box.

 

 

6. Find your image in your library and click on it.

 

 

7. There is a menu beside your photo and click on the "copy direct link" button.

 

 

8. Go to the Hamster Hideout Forum and write your post or topic. After you're finished,

click the little green tree button.

 

 

9. Now paste the URL into the place provided and click "OK."

(Command+V on most computers.)

 

 

10. Click the black "Post New Topic" at the bottom of the page and congratulations!

Your photo is posted!

 

 

I hope this helps anyone who is confused on uploading photos or just needs a

refresher. If you still have some questions feel free to ask below!

I wish this was around when I was having trouble with images at the beginning! I use imgur now so luckily I managed to figure it all out (it only took me 2 months lol) but this will be so useful to those who are still stuck!

All sorted, sorry about that. I usually reply on pc but I'm doing it all on a mobile today which is making things a bit more difficult

This is such a clear and comprehensive tutorial. Thank you for making this Lilly! It looks like you put a great deal of effort into it

I'm sure many people will find it helpful since we can't use Photobucket anymore. I had to figure out how to use imgur for secret santa and it took me so long to figure out I needed to use the direct link! I kept on trying to use the BBcode since it said it was for forums -_-
I'm sure if I'd had this to refer to, it wouldn't have taken me so many tries xD

Haha yeah, I made an Imgur tutorial for a turtle forum very similar to this a few months back. Imgur is also one of the few image uploading sites that some middle eastern countries can use as well. (According to my Turkish friend anyways). \

 

Do you mind if I grab the view and edit section picture to use for my tutorial? I didn't realize this was available on Imgur and my alternate method is convoluted.

Uh sure? I'm not too sure what you're asking. 

You can edit your photos using imgur once they're uploaded. That's how I added the red arrows to mine.

I mean just take the picture you used here displaying the menu. I'm taking on a project this weekend and I don't want to take the time to screenshot, edit, ect.
