Hi guys!

I was wondering if any of you are lactose intolerant or dairy-free and if you could give me some tips on meal plans and substitutions. I’ve known I was lactose intolerant for about a year now, but didn’t have the time or energy to change my diet. It’s really starting to mess with my health now so I figured I’d finally cut out the dairy. Anyways, if any of you have any tips or quick and easy lunch ideas please let me know!

I know there any many vegan youtubers, you can follow there recipes but still include meat, fish and eggs I think? I'm really not sure but that's the first that comes into my mind.
Maybe to do it completely sure go to a diëtist?

You can buy lactose free milk and use it the exact same way you use normal milk. It will help with the symptoms within the first few days. Cut out cheese as well. Stop eating yoghurt, unless you find a lactose free option. I know there is icecream that is made of soya milk instead of cows milk. My partner is lactose intolerant and suffers greatly if he has any litter bits of dairy. If you need tips and tricks or any bit if help and support with it, feel free to PM me.

I found these delicious vegan deli slices at Publix and I absolutely love them: field roast deli slices.  Be warned: they are crazy expensive, but I'm able to buy up as much as they have at Publix when they go on sale as "buy one get one free", and then I freeze them.  I eat them on a sandwich with dijon mustard, veganaise, sliced onion, and fresh greens.

I'd also recommend looking at recipes for vegan/dairy-free sandwich fillers.  My favorite one is a chickpea salad that I just pack between two slices of bread. It's super easy to make, takes very little time, and makes enough to last for several lunches.

There are also lots of cheese substitutes in the vegan/organics section of the grocery store that you might be interested in checking out.  Personally, I don't care for them, but you can always give them a try yourself and see how you like them. :)

Look into Asian recipes. Since many Asian countries didn't use dairy historically (even though they do now), so there's a whole mountain of recipes that never had dairy to begin with. Stir fry is an old stand-by. Cook small pieces of meat, set it aside, cook a lot of veggies, flavor it, mix in the meat at the very end, and serve with your favorite starch. Egg rolls and spring rolls are fairly easy once you get a hang of the wrapping technique. We make pancit a lot, which is a noodle dish with hundreds of variations.

Pasta salad can be dairy-free, and most soups are dairy-free. And there are an infinite number of protein/veggie/starch combos that can be made without dairy.

Also, you may find that certain dairy products are easier to digest than others. I can eat a serving of yogurt, but I can't drink milk. Some people find they can eat goat's milk products.

Hello!

A fellow diary sufferer here... it's no fun!

I use milk replacement for making things like oatmeal, smoothies etc. I use almond milk because it is sweet, but doesn't have

a really strange texture like oat, soy or coconut milk does. You can get chocolate almond milk too if you like that once and awhile.

If you like ice cream, there are a lot of dairy-free ice cream options out there. Since you're from the USA, Ben & Jerry's has a

few dairy-free icecreams with good reviews. The brand "So Delicious" has some fantastic flavors too. Häagen-Dazs ' dairy-free

icecream is my personal favourite. It's creamy, and tastes like the real stuff! Keep in mind, dairy-free ice cream is a

whole lot more expensive than regular but it's worth the extra cost to not get sick from eating it!

I personally do not eat any dairy-free cheese especially since the ones we have here in Canada taste really really fake and have

a horrible texture. I'm not sure if the USA has better options, but it's something to look into.

Hopefully, this helps a bit! Feel free to message me if you want to chat further. :)

Yes for Asian food! I just discovered my lactose intolerance recently as well.

Lately I’ve been having avocado toast for breakfast (avo, lime juice, salt and pepper and cut up cherry tomatoes on a bagel)

For lunch I normally have a sandwich which I find cheese is NECESSARY so I’ve been struggling too, howeve’ spicy crispy chicken sandwich on my lunch breaks at work lately and they’re BOMB and dairy free. Salads are good too.

For dinner literally so much has no meal dairy, make a classic meat/veg/carbs thing and it easily has no dairy. Also a pasta w red sauce, salt it up so it doesn’t need Parmesan on top, soups are good too.

Snacks I like fruit, veggies and hummus, chips, and Ben and Jerry’s dairy free ice cream is amazing

Hi, I have a severe dairy allergy. I am not Vegan and love meat, but have to avoid dairy.

We have been experimenting with many recipes and meal prep over the past two years, since I got my allergy. And just starting a YT channel. Check it out, you might like some recipes.

The goal is to have baked goods, meat dishes, and traditional recipes that people associate with dairy..made all dairy free.
