Hey all
So this summer holiday I've signed myself up for a whole bunch of online courses* to keep myself busy, and one of them is learning BSL (British Sign Language).
I wondered if anyone else knows any? From the course so far I can fingerspell all the letters, and also have basic vocab for family, hobbies, weather, colours, places, questions, stuff like that. I'm really enjoying it, and hopefully it might be something that comes in useful some time in life.
I know there are many US peeps on here and that ASL is different, but there are a lot of similarities. Maybe we could share similarities and differences if you know of any?
If anyone else is learning it would be good to chat together about it
*seriously, there is SO MUCH out there! Loads for free as well! You usually have to pay for ones that are actually "recognised" (ie. you get a certificate you can put them on your CV/resume) but even without a certificate it's all great stuff to learn. This holiday so far in addition to the BSL, I've done a 1st year university module in Cosmology with the Australian National University (I'm techincally an astrophysicist, but things have moved on quite a bit since I did my degree haha), half an A-level in Educational Psychology with the Online Learning College, and a CPD course in Enquiry-Based Learning with the University of Austin, Texas <- this one will actually count for me in work... maybe I can get them to pay for it. Hmm :P
