Thank you for the links, will read when i have time. I am doing my research before committing to anything. Also why I stated that the bins would be separate until I know for sure they can live together.
Keeping the hamsters separate at any point for extended amount of time isn't recommended. In that time they'll forget each other's exsistance, which will lead to fighting when they're put back together.
With having two separate bins, that likely wouldn't work out either-- the hamsters will likely become territorial and one will claim each bin anyhow, so just keeping them separate in the first place or only getting one would be better
