Hi! I was reading a post about going vegetarian today and it made me think I've been wanting to eat less meat. I already cut out pork and beef but I still wanna eat less meat. I definitely don't wanna cut it out fully but are there any easy switches I can make?

Im not personally vegan, even though i have considered it, just because im afraid i wont get the nutrients I need, if that wasnt a problem, i would be vegan. Hm, I would recommend taking it slow, you dont want an abrubt change. Slowly change your diet to match what you want. ( For example eat regularly, then over a span of a week or so, dont eat the same amount of what you want to cut off a little )Youve cut out pork and beef, so may I ask whats the other type of meat you would like to eat less of? ( maybe chicken? )

In meals you can switch out meat for other high protein foods like beans and lentils. For example if you’re having something like chicken and salad for supper you can instead replace the chicken with chickpeas or perhaps some sunflower seeds or other nuts/seeds. Something like rice and black/baked beans is a very nice supper. :)

I would like to say that I’m vegan, and I had to have some bloodwork done: I’m not deficient in anything. The doctor even said that they were some of the most normal levels he’s seen. I personally take a multivitamin (I was already doing that before I went vegan) for B12, vitamin D, and omega 3 fatty acids. You can get all of this stuff from food (most plant milks and cereals are fortified with B12 and vitamin D) and you can get omegas from walnuts and flax/chia seeds (which are a nice addition to oatmeal). :)

Chicken mainly. I eat it like twice a day and I wanna eat it less because its like a staple for my dinner. I also eat turkey bacon occasionally but its only like twice a week so I'm not to worried about cutting that out. Remy gave me a few good switches and ya I totally get being worried about nutrients.

I wanna eat enough meat and everything so I dont need vitamins and I still plan to eat meat like once a day but I wanna go from eating it from lunch and dinner to just lunch Y'know? I'll def try chick peas and that kinda thing. Thank you so much!

As Remy said, maybe switch out one meal of chicken for other high protein foods, since you don't want to take out meat completely, which is completely fine :) ( If I sound rude for whatever reason i wasnt trying to be lol im very sensitive about people mistaking what i said )

For most of us, I bet our hamsters eat healthier than we do.

I recently discovered hummus can be amazing. Some of the store-bought stuff is gloopy, so I never really liked it. If you make it at home, whip it up really smoothly and season to taste; it's quite good and protein.

Minestrone soup can be made vegetarian (just leave out the meat). It has beans and veggies, so it's relatively balanced.

American hummus *shudder*

No kidding! I was wondering why it was not good, despite being hugely popular in some countries. Then I had some proper hummus.

I've been vegetarian for yeears! But since it was so long ago I remember basically nothing about the process. Best wishes!
