Soooo! This will soon be my third year with my garden. Its kinda trash rn, not gonnna lie (and buried under 3 feet of snow), but since I'll have nothing to do with quaruntine I plan on fixing it up. Just wanted to share my plans with ya'll!
I already have a huge pot of oregano and forget me nots, both of which are relatively self sustaining. The oregano always comes back, same with the forget me nots, and watering and such is pretty easy.
I plan on keeping the oregano as is and possibly moving the forget me nots in the the ground (they came from there and grew like crazy, and my parents want a nicer yard so win win lol-plus my favorite flower).
I also have 2 empty pots I want to do potatoes in. Generally you put potatoes in the ground but because of our soil type I prefer pots. Plus, I get anough for a tray full and they come out like dwarfs. AND, I can start with the eyes/spuds from potatoes we buy. I plan on starting mid spring (after the thaw ofc) and I'll take them out in fall.
As for my 'garden', well.. Okay, I have one section which is pots. Personally I prefer them because of our soil, and want to get more, but I do have an actual in ground garden with a few hardy plants. I have parsley (bienial, dies but leaves its babies for me to eat), spearmint (I believe perenial?) and I have another mint I forgot the name of. I also have chives. I HAD zucchini plant. but tis probably dead and I hate zuchini anyhow lol.
I want to plant some cucumbers again (I had some my first year), radishes (tried but alas, bad soil), and attempt either mixed greens or peppers.
The cucumbers will be potted, as will the radishes, and the possible mixed greens, spinach, or peppers. I would love to try tomatoes, but I've tried 4 times and barely got any, so I think I should do something else.
I have seeds already, and a trellis on hand, so all I need to buy are one or two plant pots, thgough I may have some in my garage. My FAVORITE thing is that sweet time when the majority of everything is ripe and I can pick it and give some away, as well as when I cook something and just need that color from fresh parsley or flavor from newly trimmed chives and I can go out and get some
If you cant tell, this is something I'm extremely passionate about lol. Every spring I make some plans. the thaw is supposed to be around mid may, but ideally I begin alll my new plants indoors around then, and bring them out when its more sunny.
