^^

Basically I have a whole bunch of knee problems, hip problems and ankle problems which are IT band syndrome, patellar tracking disorder, femorapatellar syndrome and slight juvenile arthritis. They impede my daily activites, so I have to get an MRI scan for my knees.

The thing is, I hate confined spaces. I'm too short to only put my lower body in the machine (sighs at 150cm)

I'm going to take relaxants before, but I'm still anxious.

Does anyone have any tips?

thanks <3

You can ask your doctor for a sedative before you go, it really helps =)

I'm not claustrophobic but I found this: "Claustrophobia can be successfully treated and cured by gradually being exposed to the situation that causes your fear."

Don't worry Ally, I'm sure you'll do just fine. You need to experience situations like these in order to overcome it. <3

They usually have headphones for you and a huge selection of music to choose from. Think about what kind of music you would enjoy and will help you feel calm and relaxed. Then close your eyes and listen, it will be over sooner than you think, and closing your eyes will help with the claustrophobia. If you want, you can imagine yourself elsewhere while you listen.

Also, tell the tech you are anxious. It's a common problem, and they should have more tips to help you feel more at ease.
