I thought I'd make a banner on the most popular types of woodshavings because it's seems not many people can tell them apart very well. Please add this to your profile so others can learn to tell them apart.

What is it that you’re trying to accomplish with the banner? I can’t think of a situation where you would need to be able to identify wood shavings solely on looks. There always seems to be a much more practical option.

I agree with Remy but there are some things that I would like to add. While I think this is a great idea in theory, I also agree with the fact I’m not sure when it would serve a purpose. In addition, these aren’t the only types of safe/unsafe shavings for example, there’s birch, spruce, hemp (I know it’s not really a shaving nor wood based however it fits more into that category than paper) etc, as well as you wouldn’t be able to see if something is scented or not or particularly dusty through a picture.

Furthermore, the way that shavings are processed and produced determines the appearance and therefore it might not always be possible to tell the difference. For example, I can never visually tell the difference between pine and a safe softwood like spruce. This could end up causing some confusion.

I hope you understand where I am coming from and don’t take this personally, it’s great in theory but needs tweaking :)

Also, if you were to do this, it would be better if you at least mentioned which one of these are safe. ( Pine and cedar aren't, aspen is. ):)

Nice banner! And to the others, well, since they at least took the time to do research and make the banner, I'll gladly put it in my profile. :)

I would definitely agree with others:

1/ it's a nice idea

2/ it needs to add what is good or not good. At the moment "yay!" we get to see 3 different types of bedding but the banner doesn't say what is good or bad. So perhaps add "safe" or "not safe" to make this clear.

3/ It's not really representative of the beddings so I'm not sure of the point. I have  most definitely bought aspen bedding that could fit into either photo (1) or (2), so these photos aren't really particularly useful in getting people to tell the beddings apart.

Suggestions:

Make a banner that lists which beddings are safe and not safe.

For the ones that might look similar (ie. the wood shavings) you could list what to look for in a safe bedding (eg. look for packaging that says softwood, etc).

Overall nice idea and I'll add it to my profile page and as a link in a sig but at the moment it's just not really that useful :)

Thank you! I'll try and fix it a bit!
