Hi all

 

 

So, something that has been happening recently is that I hear my old hamsters cage.

It is small and barred and sitting on the ground of my room.

Now, when I am sleeping on my loft bed, I hear the cage.

The same bar chewing, bring bring sound it makes.

 

 

And I have to get out of bed to make sure the hamster isn't escaping.

Even though the hamster that lived in that cage died in May.

 

I still think he's there.

I expect to see him sitting on his little chubby legs, waiting for me to feed him and give him kisses.

I still hear his pitter-pattering on the cage floor.

I still hear him climbing and chewing the bars.

Even though, he's not there.

 

Even though I have a new hamster, I still expect for him to come back.

One day, maybe, he will appear again.

But he won't.

 

 

 

I just still don't know how to deal with it.

Hi, I really feel your grief and I want to help. I’ve been writing the story my name is in hamster tales. The story is actually about myself mainly, and my hamster that I had at the time when I first joined HH only a few months ago. This hamster was called Heaped, and I’ve mentioned her on the hammy hi section. She was my absolute little angel and she actually died in December aged only 11 months old. Believe it or not, she was the only pet that I’ve ever had since I was around about 12 years old. I am now 50, and basically she was my best friend…… even though I’m actually 50 years old, I’m not ashamed to say that I spent two weeks crying every night for probably about two hours…. I thought that nothing could stop my grief at all, even though I had bought another hamster because I had to have another hamster in my life.… I guess all I’m trying to say, is that everybody on here will go through this.... all we can do is try and support each other when our little friends do eventually leave us. I have made the very difficult decision to try and keep writing my story about my lovely little Heaped, even though she passed away in December. My new hamster I have named H and he’s a long-haired Syrian he is absolutely beautiful.…. I wish you all the best...
