So i got my hamster a new wheel as her other one (18cm) was starting to lean forward and i didn’t want it to fall on her in the middle of the night. Daisy’s back wasn’t bending but as she is growing ,she is smaller than my past hamster, i didn’t want it to start bending so with this in mind i got her the trixie wheel (20cm). It came yesterday, i put it in her cage after cleaning it and she was a little confused at first with the holes but she figured that out but she didn’t look like she could run on it like she did on her other one. Do i need to give her time to figure it out? Give her old wheel back? Is it too big? She also liked to sit on her wheel and look at us when we came in the room would she be affected by the holes and not being able to look out of them? would this stress her? Thanks.

I think this wheel is too big for her. I had same situation that my one don't liked bigger wheel that I bought for him, because previous was broke. And In that case i decided to use my DIY tricks that I have seen on this site and create my own wheel. It need to be 1.5-2 bigger than hamster, if bigger it can be to hard, because I decided to make with wood. As a result new my own made wheel looks good, don't broke, and hamter love it and don't fall. :sweatdrop:
