Hi guys :)

I know this has been talked about quite a bit lately, but I feel like it's a topic that can be broached time and time again and people will still need it. So here, with another mental health post. There is a Mental Wellness Topic on HH already, but this one is more individualized and I want it to be a stand-alone. Also, this is long, so thanks to anyone who reads it.

What conditions this is regarding, you can choose. It's going to be a little more vague and you can apply this letter to any problems that you're going through right now.

I hope you're all doing okay. If you are, fantastic and keep going! Don't give up!

If you're not, though, and I have a feeling this will address many members (including myself), I have a few things to say.

The first is that you're not alone. I know this statement can have a few different affects on people, causing irritation or bringing peace, I'm not sure. It depends wildly and you're unique, so it will vary, of course. Sometimes, for me, it causes me to think that my feelings aren't valid because everyone feels them. But that's wrong. The fact that everyone feels them doesn't make it any less real for you, or make you any less worthy of needing help. If you're struggling, you're struggling. Okay? Not everybody's gonna feel it like this, of course, but if you are, I can definitely relate.

The second is a reminder to talk to someone. Technically, this won't apply to everybody, but hear me out. Not everybody feels like they need to, or that it won't help, but for the vast majority, it does. Even if it's just to let someone shoulder one of your burdens for a few minutes, it can help. Open up to one person that you really love if you don't want to open up to a lot. That's fine. Do whatever you need to do.

If you don't have anyone to talk to, it may sound silly, but there's always online. We are all people behind screens who all experience trials, and it can help even to talk to someone online. I certainly have. And you know what? It's helped a lot.

I know it can be hard to balance all the parts of life that demand attention. It's really hard, guys. I suck at it. My life is composed of me basically jumping from one hobby to another, going through obsessive cycles, then periods of strong joy and then periods of strong depression. I can't seem to get a handle on it, and it really stinks.

But you do need to take care of yourself. I don't want to make you reluctant to listen to this by coming across as confrontational, so I mean this with the most love possible. Also, remember that sometimes good enough is enough. Don't push yourself too, too hard if you're struggling with doing even basic things. Take a walk, not a run. Be content with that. Brush your teeth for a minute instead of two. Give into little comforts that will make life more fun, especially with the wacko last two years. Don't beat yourself up over mistakes. Do the bare minimum, and then push yourself just a little. Not hard. You can do it.

OH, BOY. Beating yourself up over mistakes? Don't. You don't need to. Mistakes are what make you human. They're what gives life color and beauty. That saying, there can be no light without shadow? Yeah, it's true. Without mistakes, we'd never make progress and life would be bland. That other saying, embrace your mistakes? Also yeah. That's the idea.

To tie all of this together (oof), no matter what you're going through, your emotions are valid and relatable. Talk to someone, even for just a couple minutes. Don't give up, because you can do it. I promise. Take care of yourself for the bare minimum, and then let yourself have fun and joy on top of it. Don't let your mind or others drag you down. Listen to a good song that you love. Eat a chocolate, just don't gorge yourself.

You can do it. I believe in you.

I hope this helped someone out there, even just a little bit.

There are a couple other little things down in the spoiler, too.

With love,

Anna <3 <3
