4 Weeks is too early! At that age, hamsters are still learning SO MUCH from their siblings! I would wait for 8 weeks, & you shouldn't get a hamster any smaller than 6 weeks. Hope this is helpful!

I'm torn on this. Normally, you'd wait until 6 weeks, but a corn only diet is not appropriate for any species (human, cow, hamster...) . Corn is nutritionally incomplete, and corn-only fields are literally leading to the extinction of European hamsters in certain areas. Hamster mothers on a corn-only diet have been shown to have a greater tendency to cannibalize pups.
If you gave your friend a bag of hamster food, would she be willing to feed that to the hamsters over the next few weeks?

I would but we live very far away and we have been planning to meet for about a month now, it would be very hard to be able to meet again since we are very busy at the moment and it could take up to 2 months till we can meet again. I would deliver it but like i said we live very far and it could be pretty pricey.I'm torn on this.
