I have a Syrian hamster, I gave him a little woven ball toy. But when i put it in he started eating it. Is this normal?

yes, very normal. Hamster explore with their mouths, and have an innate need to chew. Most hamster toys are designed to be chewed up and destroyed. If it is woven with some sort of fabric, you should remove it. If it's woven with something like wicker or willow, it should be safe to leave in and for him to chew up.
