I got a hide with a plastic bottom and my dudette has dragged the paper bedding in. However, she keeps digging at it as if it's gonna give, is this normal?

Hi!
I would recommend having hides with open bottoms, and would recommend wooden hides as they don't let in light/ hold heat as well. Your hamster may be trying to start a burrow, hamsters like to burrow were they sleep, or in your case the hide. This is normal, my hamster does this, but I have a open bottom wooden hide, and he has little burrows.

Hope this helps!
