HAMSTER OF THE MONTH 

August

 

Hamster Of The Month is a contest where you can enter a photo of your hamster, matching the set theme for the month, for a chance to win a HOTM winner's banner.

 

Open for entries: 2nd -  24th August
Voting: 24th - 28th August
Winner announced: 1st August

Rules

 

1. Anyone can enter this contest, even if you've won before.
2. You cannot use a winning picture from a previous HOTM.
3. Enter only one photo per month.
4. Photos must be your own, of your own hamster or a hamster you live with. No stealing photos from the Internet or other members.
5. No pity posts (ex. "Oh, my photo will never win... :( ")
6. Keep editing to cropping/resizing/sharpness/etc.
7. All images, posts and comments must abide by forum rules.
8. Rainbow hamsters are allowed provided the picture fits the theme.
9. All props and anything else included in your photo should be safe for your hamster. If you have any concerns about an entry, please PM me.

How to enter

Once you have taken / selected your photo, you will need to host it on an image hosting site such as Imgur or Imgbb. Post your photo in this thread following the instructions below. Include with your entry your hamster's name.

3. Select your picture
4. Upload it
5. Copy and paste either the Image Link or BBCode into your reply.

2. Click “New post” or click this link: https://imgur.com/upload

3. Select your photo and wait for it to upload

4. Click copy link 

5. To embed the image into your post click “Get share links” and click “BBcode forums”

 

Theme

 

 This month's theme is...celebration! I may be biased but imo August is one of the best times of the year. You might ask why I chose celebration, and it may or may not have something to do with my birthday being in August. ;) Your entry could the first photo of your hamsters, them exploring their new home, your hamster with a cake, a party with your hamster...anything! As always, be creative and...

I would like to enter Buddy! Please note: All props used are hammy safe! He loves Apple so I think it's like a celebration to him when he gets them + he sits still when he eats them so I get to use props and take good pictures!

I would like to enter my hamster Jasmine and this pic is a celebration because it is the first successful picture I got of her in good lighting, and I was definitely celebrating when I took it! I plan on keeping it in my locker at school. 😁

I'm grateful to have been able to run this contest, this is the last I'll ever host since the forum is closing. Thank you to everyone who's ever enterted HOTM, it's been amazing <3
