My male hamster just passed a clear/white "object" out of his anus (although it could have been his urethra, I didn't watch it happen). It's the same size and shape as his regular poop, and it's hard. He then passed a completely regular pellet of poop a few minutes after with no issue. Another one of my other males did this once before as well.

Zayn is about a year old and pretty healthy save for his wart, which is suspected to be papilloma. His yeast and bacterial infection has been cleared, after regular visits with an exotic vet.

So, what on Earth is that thing?? Any ideas?

I did think it was sperm, but it wouldn't be hard, would it?

Male hamsters can sometimes get penile plugs, which on their own aren't dangerous. Although if it got stuck he may have a hard time peeing. Basically, they sometimes get a white gooey blob down there and they usually clean it out. It's not uncommon for older male hamsters who are having a harder time reaching down there to clean to get the harder lumps. Every now and I just check things out and clean with some warm water if I see some goo to make sure my males aren't having any issues.

If it's only one I wouldn't worry about it but just keep a health check on it to make sure he isn't having any issues peeing.

The other option is a passed bladder or kidney stone but if he is behaving normally, I would think not because it's very painful to pass one of those.

Thanks so much! It was just one and he had no issue getting it out himself, so I'm pretty sure he's fine. I was just very surprised :D
