my hamster is winter white dwarf, male, age 1 year.
it was in his belly, specifically in his scent glad. it was black and when i try to touch it with cotton bud, it felt dry. it also seems that his belly doesn't have much hair (it's not bald but i can still see his pink skin) but i've never seen his hair falling, also there's no other bald spot.
If it a scab, what should i gave him? i just realized this today

i've found that there's a lot of similar case with crusty scent gland. but mine was black, they were yellowish-brown. and i don't think mine was crusty, rather it's just dry...
it's kinda hard to take his pic bcs he can't stop moving. but i'll try again later... please pray for him

I would try using warm water and a qtip or swab to gently remove it, if you can. Some warm water soaked with thyme would be good. I would put the swab on his belly for 30 seconds to a minute to let it soften, try to remove and then soak in warm water again for another 30 seconds to a minute. Repeat until the hard bit has soften and you can remove. Once you remove the hard bits, I would clean it with betadine.
You can can't remove it, you may need to go to the vet to have them help you express it.
