=serves family of 8 hamsters=

Ingredients:
- tofu (3 square cubes, abt 2cm by 2cm)
- wheatgerm (3 tablespoon)
- small piece of brocolli (only the leafy part)

1. separate out the individual leaflets of the brocolli (so dat it will be small enough for bb hamsters)
2. mix the tofu, wheatgerm, and brocolli in a mixing bowl.
3. serve.

(Note: this mixture is nutritious and is recommended for both mummy and bb hams from 5 days onwards. the mashed-up mixture is easily digested for bb hams, while providing both mom and children with protein, frolic acid and moisture).

alternative to brocolli - chopped carrots
alternative to wheatgerm - plain biscuit crumbs

this recipe has been concocted by HB and I, and has been given to sparkles & her bbs. they absolutely love it! :yummy:
now the bbs are all big and round! :o

try it for big and healthy bbs! :hyper:

tofu, wheatgerm and brocolli are kinda common... u can find it in most supermarkets!

i'm assuming u live in london ...

tofu is actually beancurd... maybe can get in chinese supermarkets but its expensive in england... i know coz i've studied in birmingham and craved for it!

brocolli can always buy in those open market rite? or sainsbury... 50p for a hugh bunch

wheatgerm trickier... dunno where u can get that in england... maybe look at sainsbury to see if they stock organic food

yeah, just put it there, the pups will eat it if they can. takes some strain off the mom too and the mom will get a healthy supplement. it's a very soft and mashed-up mixture, so no problems. :)

I don't think it is necessary to boil it. I used to feed my late hamster with toufu because he was ill.

Another great alternative is low-fat cottage cheese or yoghurt with broccoli.

I feed my bb hammies with soaked dog kibbles...one of the top brands of course...works well for them...fed tofu, vegies, rolled oats and fruits daily also...all very round and fat

May i know where can i get healthy yoghurt?

You can get it in most super markets or some health food stores. I imagine you have access to it in SG. :)

Great recipe Dusty! I'm gonna give Patrick some now! :D
