[Christmas_hamster]

After running this idea through Wiffy and Dusty they very kindly let me go through with it. I got the idea off of some other forums and thought that it would be great for HH. Basically it is a thread for each member to post their hamsters. Each member would post only once with information about their hamster such as:

-A Picture
-Name
-Date of Birth (D.O.B) or the day that you got them
-Color variety (Ex. Agouti, sable)
-Species
-Cage-mates (if any)
-Comments on behavior etc.
-Any illnesses, or health issues they had in the past
-Cage kept in
-A brief description
-Gender

To keep this thread organized there are a few things to remember:

-edit your post to add hamsters or other information, it is one post per member
-if you have any comments, suggestions or questions about how this thread works do not post it here but please PM (personal message) Wiffy, Dusty or another staff member.
-if you wish to ask a member a question or leave a comment about a particular member's hamster then please PM that member.

Keep in mind that any comments that are added will be deleted so please remember to PM instead.

The idea of this thread is to see everyone's hamsters, what kind of hamster they have, what cages they use, what health issues they have dealt with, etc. So that advice can be asked for based on their experience. Current hamsters only in this topic. There will be a separate topic for the same purpose at the Rainbow Bridge board. There is where you can start a post for any deceased hamsters. As your hamsters pass away ( ) please move the information from this page into your post (or start one at that time) at the Rainbow Bridge thread by copying and pasting the information. Again if you have any questions do not hesisate to PM me or another staff member.

Behaviour Notes: was very shy at first and did not enjoy human company for some time. He never bit me but he ran and hid away in his bed once he heard me near his cage. After some gentle taming he was soon comfortable enough to be handled.
Health: had an abscess on his side, after seeking a vet's consultation I had it lanced and drained, it started to come back a little but with some epsom salt baths it soon healed nicely.

Comments on behavior: A very laid back and good natured boy. Loves to eat.

A brief description: Chubby and good looking boy. He dislike the tropical heat, hence if he's not in an air-con room, the ceiling fan will be on for him, and he will position himself right below it. His funny antics and sleeping poses made him the butt of many (good-hearted) jokes. He loves veggies, even weird-tasting ones like coriander and garland chrysanthemum (tang o). He dashes out every morning when his salad bowl is topped up. Surprisingly, he does not have a sweet tooth, so he rejected all the usual yummy treats like berries and fruits. He loves his wodent wheel to bits, he rejected his first wheel which was a wild "silent wheel" by creating a loud din when he's wheeling on it. Toilet trains himself. In short, a very very good boy

Other: Creampuff loves exploring new places. She loves to climb on anything and she loves almost any kind of chewing treat. She especially loves floor time and interacting with people.

Behaviour Notes: Very timid and shy at first. Took awhile to get use to humans, but once he did Tator-Tot became an extremely friendly and tolerate hamsters, allowing people to hold him without squirming or trying to get away. He's also an extremely hyper guy who is constantly running around from the minute he wakes up (which happens to be surprisingly early; 5pm-ish) to the minute he goes to bed. (normally sometime around 5 or 6am)
Health: Nuthin'. He's a healthy boy and will hopefully continue to be one.
Cage: 25 gallon bin, 10 gallon bin and OVO main unit cage.

Other: His previous owners moved away and left him all alone
in their old apartment. He was found last week of January 2010 and

He was a baby born here with me, his foot got bitten off by his mom and got infected, from 7 days old I had to bathe his foot to keep infection down, I couldnt bare to part with him after that.
