Dear Hamster Hideout Forum Members :wave:,
 
We would like to announce the closure of the forum on 25 August 2022. Please take this time to archive any information or photos that you cherish.
 
This is not an easy or sudden decision as Hamster Hideout has been in operation for more than 20 years. We are one of the largest online hamster community today and this is all thanks to your active participation & sharing. 
 
However, it has been increasingly challenging to keep the forum running for a long time. As we go through various phases & changes in life, we feel the time is now apt to close the forum. We hope you will always remember HH with fondness whenever you think about the forum.
 
My heart is filled with gratitude to our past moderators, our long-time forum resident, missPixy, and each and every one of you, who made the forum a lively & fun place to be in.  :grouphug:
 
Thank you all very much for your constant support all these years! We wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

Thank you for everything dusty! I have had quite a few ups and… a lot of downs on this website. I was quite angry at you for a long time but I now see where you came from, besides, running a forum for 20 years is absolutely incredible. Do whatever you need to do because I think you’ve earned your retirement lol.

We, all past HH members and most likely those random people stumbling upon a post through google desperate for some answer to a problem really appreciate everything this forum has had to offer. I’ve loved my time here, despite becoming pretty inactive this past year. Thank you dusty and everyone who made this place possible </3

Goodbye everyone! I don’t usually post on here anymore, but I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who had answered my questions and helped me with my pet care. I’m so grateful that I’ve had a reliable place to get information when I needed help with my hamsters and gerbils. :wave:

Dusty, I respect your decision to close the forum and it is completely understandable that you’re choosing to do so. However, is there any way to keep the existing information locked on this website? I find it to be an excellent resource when it comes to hamster care and I like to refer back to old posts fairly often. Of course, I understand if this isn’t a possibility but I thought it was worth asking anyways. Thank you for everything you’ve done for the forum over the years! :goodvibes:

Man, I feel like I'm closing a chapter of my life :') I've been a member of HH since 2014, and pretty much grown up on this forum. It'll always hold a special place in my heart <3

 

Thank you Dusty for running HH for the past two decades (what a feat!!). There have been so many developments to hamster care in that time and I'm sure HH played a significant role in that. 

 

So thankful for this community, and all the wonderful people I've met on here over the years. Will be sad to say goodbye when the time comes, but it's been a good one. Take care everyone xx

Omg…. I never cry but I feel such an urge to do so…. My favourite site going away is truly something that I didn’t expect today. I knew that it would happen one day but I never thought so soon. Thank you everyone, for the memories, for the help, for the laughs, for the friendships and for everything else. I don’t even know what to say. Thank you everyone, thank you <3 :heartbeat:

I joined just a little over a month ago, but I have gotten many of my questions answered on this forum and learned a lot. The fact that HH is so old and has so many members is amazing, but sometimes things have to go.

This is so sad, but I 100% respect the decision. : Thank you to everyone who made this wonderful community possible. I will truly cherish this website. Despite me only being on here for a short while, it was truly amazing while it lasted. Thank you all.  :heartbeat:

Dusty it's amazing you've been able to run this forum for so long, major respect and credit to you!

 

Thank you to everyone who answered my questions and to everyone who helped me through hard times! If any of you are interested in keeping contact dm me and we can figure out what info to exchange.

 

I've only been on the forum for about two years, but I've made so many friends and learned so much; I'm so sad we're all gonna have to leave this behind!
