Have I asked for help on this hamster before? (If yes, do not start a new topic. Look for your old topic and continue to post there so that other members can refer to previous symptoms)
No - This is the first time I am asking for help on this hamster.
Here is information about my hamster -
Age:1 year and 9 months
Gender: Female
Species: Syrian
Yesterday she was normal and playful and drank water. I observed she ate and she even ran on her wheel a bit. I knew she was slowing down but I thought I'd have more time...
After work today I found her half laying out of her hide and with slits for eyes. I took her outside in the cool air because I noticed she wasn't catching enough air. There I said my goodbyes. When I brought her back in she went to her favorite spot and just lays there, hunched over, eyes barely open and breathing heavily. I tried giving her water, critical care and food but she refused it all and bit me gently as a warning instead. I don't know what else to to do, I have a diffuser and a fan running, she didn't sound like she had pneumonia but its my only thought.
I don't have enough to afford and emergency vet and I don't think I can get her in fast enough for a normal one.
What can I do to help her pass peacefully. I haven't had enough luck to see them go like this and I would really appreciate suggestions...
