I can't figure out how to do mods. They never work for me. Also, I have no idea how to run a adventure map.

Could someone help me or link me to a page or tutorial on how to do so? I'd love to play!

Downloading and installing custom maps is actually really simple, its just a matter of dropping the downloaded folder into the correct place in your .Minecraft folder (the place where all of your game data is stored, including where resourcepacks go when you add them) :)

Here's a tutorial that should help: https://www.howtogeek.com/school/htg-guide-to-minecraft/lesson13/

Installing custom maps is a good thing for any seasoned Minecrafter to know, because if you can do that, you open up a whole new world of gaming possibilities!

(By the way, though I've never tried, I'm guessing that installing mods works the same way, just drop the files into the mods folder instead of the saves one)

That is 100% correct. You have to have Forge installed though, or else you won't even have a mods folder. And all your mods have to be compatible with the version of forge that you have. So if you have Forge for 1.11.2 like I do, all of your mods would have to be for 1.11.2 or else they won't work at all.

Oh my goodness I love doing this! And I use Emeralds for money too! Usually the first thing I make is a hotel. My current world is Bear Town, and the hotel is called The Baby Bear Hotel. With a statue of Bear. But I Make giant hotels with big pools on the room, luxury rooms, and go carts (mine carts) it's soo fun! I love your pics too :)

I used to always make hotels first too! I just decided to start a little differently this time. That sounds super cool, you should take some screenshots! I'd love to see! I used to play pocket edition mostly until I got the PC edition, and I'd make cities on there for me and my friend a lot, and I'd make like a MASSIVE hotel and give my friend a tour, and my friend had to pick a room to live in and pay me "rent" lol. The bigger and fancier the room was, the more the rent costed. There was like cheap itty bitty rooms that were 2 blocks wide, and expensive massive rooms with outdoor balconies and a kitchen lol.

You're correct on all of this but for some reason ever since they updated the launcher you can't get into your game directory (where all the data is stored) so I can't use mods or maps anymore. :irked: I don't understand! It still works for other people but not for me.. hrm...

I've been inspired by HamsterMouse now xD I'm building a town called Sixwood. So far I've build 2 1/2 of the "meeting halls" for each individual village. There's going to be an Oak Village, a Spruce Village, a Birch Village, an Acacia Village, a Jungle Village, and a Dark Oak Village. I'm excited! :D

This is not true at all, you just have to know where to find the game directory :) Try this:

Go into the game, and then into the resourcepack menu. When you click on add resourcepack, it will open up directly into the resourcepack folder, which is inside the .Minecraft folder/directory.

Awesome! I've been playing it basically all day (with a few breaks here and there) and I've actually collected about 23 portal crystals already :D I could use them now and end the game, but I want to go through all the dungeons and see all there is to see first :)

Have you tried searching for %appdata%, and opening that folder, then finding .minecraft?

That sounds really cool! Are you going to take some pics when you are done? :D

There is no "resourcepack" menu.. resource pack FOLDER does exist but it's in the game directory which I don't have access to.

I'm on a Mac, so I don't know if that changes anything. I have tried searching for %appdata% in Finder but nothing comes up.

Definitely! I'm going to go work on it some more. <3

I see, and I wish I could help, but I don't know much about Macs... Here's some links that may help you though:

https://macinfo.us/how-to-find-minecraft-worlds-on-your-mac

https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/115943/is-the-minecraft-folder-hidden-on-a-mac

http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/archive/legacy-support/1827505-help-cant-find-minecraft-folder-in-mac-application

By the way, protip for everyone, once you locate your minecraft folder, create a shortcut and put it somewhere easier to find for next time you need it. Trust me, this makes finding it WAY faster :D
