Hi!

So, I was wondering what you guys' opinions are on the best ukulele teacher on YouTube. I'm going to pick up my ukulele tomorrow, and would like to learn how to play it from a good source.

Tysm! :)

I actually don't believe there is a "best ukulele teacher" on YouTube! I don't use YouTube all that often though, so I guess I'm biased.

So, I know I'm not answering your question with the answer you wanted, but anyways, I basically learned how to play ukulele by looking up "Ukulele Basics for Beginners" on YouTube, then watched a few of the videos. After that, I downloaded an app called Yousician, but after a month of using it, I didn't learn anything. I know some people have had success with it, but I did not.

What I would suggest doing would be to watch a few "Ukulele Basics" videos (on YouTube) before you actually play. Then, I would just strumming on it, learning the feel of the ukulele. After that, I would highly suggest downloading and app called "guitartuna." It basically has a tuner, that shows you how to tune your ukulele. Along with that, there are a few "games" on it, to help your learn the chords. I would play the games, learning the four chords that it teaches you. It has a free version, which is the one I use. I wouldn't suggest buying a subscription.

After you learn those chords, you can search up some basic ukulele songs (on Google, YouTube, or Pinterest) and learn those.

Once you learn some basic songs, you can learn a few more chords, then more songs! And continue the process until you.... well until you want to stop!

So that's how I wish I self taught myself, and how I would suggest anyone to self teach themselves.

I know you were looking for specific channels, so I'll link a few down below in the spoiler. I've only watched a few of there videos, so I cannot say how truly amazing they are, just that they are decent channels from what I've seen.

Also, congratulations on your new uke! I hope it brings you just as much joy as it brings me!!

okay, bye!

Hi Mushu!! So I told you I would let you know how it went, so here you go!

My ukulele learning journey is going well. :) I've chosen BernadetteTeachesMusic to be my online ukulele instructor, and so far I've learned the parts of a uke, how to strum, how to hold a uke, how to play the chromatic scale, and so much more. I'm really enjoying it, and hopefully will get a ukulele for Christmas this year!  :valentine:

Hey, I can share my experience here, maybe it will be useful for you. So, a few years ago a saw a nice video online of a man who was playing the ukulele, and that made me want to try this instrument myself. However, I did not have. A lot of money to pay a professional teacher to help me. Instead, I found this great online platform junumusic.com that basically serves as the ultimate guide for any ukulele player, either beginner or professional. You can find there a lot of insightful information, practice video tutorials, articles and what not. Definitely made my life easier and served as a great teacher for me.
