Young AH seeks out AB at a bar. They talk in a mediocre rap, and Burr teaches him his fundamental of life-Talk Less, Smile More. They also meet there friends, John Laurens, Lafayette, And Hercules Mulligan*. There both orphans. They rap, and more or less, NOTHING HAPPENS -__-

Again, I SWEAR it gets more interesting later on ;3

Well i mean, its really important because it includes the first impressions of Hamilton, Burr, Laurens, Lafayette, and Mulligan. It also shows that Burr and Hamilton have significant differences (that might lead to arguments/disagreements). The song also shows how Hamilton is well liked, charismatic, and outspoken, He's persuasive, and people listen to him and his ideas. It explains more of his personality, so something happens. Of course, this is only my opinion.

Probably, like, my 5th favorite rap! Long, fast, and meaningful

 

So, what is this song about? His shot. But in all seriousness, if you asked me, his 'shot' is his chance. Like Washington said, "Dying is easy young man, Living is harder', life is your shot, and you gotta use that shot. Instead of dying on the battle field, Hamilton used his shot to create this nation (Sure, its kinda trashy sometimes, but in whole its great) and wrote like he was running out of time.  He talked a lot, and he wrote like crazy. In this song he talks about his hopes and dreams, how he'll achieve them, and what he wants to work on.  He speaks of the war,  How he's Young, Scrappy, and Hungry, and how he's not throwing away his shot. He talks about his hopes and dreams for America to rise up, right for independance, and how he has plans. Heres one of my favorite quotes-

Like I said, he was a talker, but he made promises and kept most of them (ahem-Reynolds Pamphlet and Cabinet Battle 2-ahem), and he made his friends proud (minus Burr, the <super> fool that shot him) All in all, this is a song about hopes, dreams, having a good future, thinking past tomorrow, and how even young people can Rise Up, Rise Up!

One of my favorites. Its not a rap but its sooooooooooooooo nice. They talk about how they WILL fight for the war. Even if they dont live to see there glory, they will gladly join the fight. I think they were a little drunk when they sang, but either way, I thought it was nice. Its a lot quieter an calmer, but it has a strong message and, well..... Probably one of the most boring songs IMAO, but it gets betttterrrrrr, mkay?! Just wait for King George and the Reprise.

: (    If Hamilton killed Burr, would u hate him? Burr did many great things too, but since he killed Hamilton historians don't talk about his accomplishments as much. He did just as much good as Hamilton did, you can search it up. In my opinion, Burr is hated on way too much. General Charles Lee was actually a very good and responsible general, his reason for his downfall was his stubbornness and disagreements with Washington on how to organize the troops. When Laurens killed Lee (on Hamilton's behalf) his reputation wasn't tarnished. I think all the hate on Burr is overrated. Of course this is my opinion, but I really do think Burr is underrated and should be appreciated more.

Did you know the cast actually got drunk so they would slur the words convincingly? I find it very interesting that they can sing so well even when they're drunk and i cant even sing half as good as them sober

I only called Burr that because he's reffered to that in the first song. Based off of some of the other songs (i.e, Dear Thedosia, Wait For It, The World Was Wide Enough), I DO think he's underrated. He did so much for people and all people think of him is 'AWESOME. WOW. HE SHOT HAMILTON".   I mean. Hamilton cheated on his wife (No hate on Maria Reynolds, she had an abusive husband and was blackmailed in to it), lied to France, talked behind his friends back. Yet, he and Jefferson are SO overrated. Like, Jefferson did some things to make me be bothered by him, too, but he's THE BIG Founding Father. Hamilton is a great dude, but Burr needs some more credit. I don't hate either of them. If Hamilton killed Burr, I would honestly feel disgusted because he's the one who kind of provoked that, and Burr sounded like he didn't want to kill him (though I've heard mixed things about his after thoughts), but either way,  They both got the wrong amount of credit, and Burr was probably my second favorite character.

George and Philip got in to a Duel because George was talking bad about Ham. There supposed to shoot at 10 but george shot at 7 so rip philip. Thats also the same place where burr killed ham.

oh yeah- totally knew the guys name and did not just call him 'that dueler guy'

 

umm i thought it was the other way around-? I thought that it was Philip who had trouble counting to 7, but either way, george did not shoot Philip at 7 during the real event.  From what i gathered, they just stood there awkwardly (past the 10 second mark)  and philip raised his arm to throw away his shot. George mistaken philips movement and thought that philip was going to shoot him. So George shot first. the '7' thing in the song is just for dramatic affect ( i think-)

 

EDIT: i just wanted to say omG i LOVE talking about Hamilton with you cause like nobody i know is interested in musicalsss except for u and AnnaHeartsHamsters
