Hello,

So I've been getting a lot of cramps, and just hurting in general lately in my lower stomach; ( Honestly, I had to cancel going to the grocery story because I started getting cramps while shopping in the garden center ).  Sometimes it feels very tight and other times just feels like a stomachache transferred to my lower stomach, and whatever it is, it hurts quite a lot.

So I'm wondering if anyone has any tips for when this type of thing happens? The only one I can think of is heating up a heating pad and placing it on my stomach, ( It works wonders ) and sometimes having hot tea with it. ( That's what I'm doing as I write this ). However I'm curious to learn if there are any other helpful ways, just to see if any of them might possibly be better, or since the heat pad and tea won't always follow me around.

Any tips will be appreciated. :)

My cousin once said that she pities those who get period cramps and pains since she doesn't get them, and I wondered how possibly bad those types of pains could be and here I am.

Tylenol. Tis all I can say, numbs everything, dosen't make you too drowsy. Theres a chewable (I think), a drinkable, and a pill. All work for everything imaginable.

Ibuprofen (sold as Motrin in the US) is better than Tylenol (paracetamol/acetaminophen) for period pain, but you can't take it on an empty stomach (which you can with Tylenol).

I second what Daisy says. I don't have personal experience bc I don't take pain medicine in general. Buuuuttt my sister always talks about how Ibuprofen works really well

This happens to me too, I would suggest taking some ibuprofen and relaxing with a heating pad, also making sure you drink lots and lots of water, this works well for me (:

Hi, hope you are doing well!

I get really bad cramps too. I usually take an Advil that really helps. Or I use a heating pad. I heard that a bath can help, I've never tried this before but it might work for you! hope I could help, stay safe!

Ibuprofen doesn't nothing for my cramps, so your mileage may vary. Midol is basically Tylenol plus other ingredients for other period symptoms.

This won't help you this month, but:

The most helpful thing I've found is to start taking pain pills (try a low dosage first, like one pill every 12 hours) a couple days before I expect to have cramps. Scheduling can be tricky, so it's not an exact science.

Thank you all for your helpful tips! ( I have to quote too many people ).

I'll try to see if I can manage to get any of the medicine you recommended me next time I'm out on errands, but until then I'll try hot water/tea, taking a bath, heat, etcetc. :)

I agree, haha. I just have no motivation to do anything, and I get super moody about... mainly food and strange cravings. Yesterday, it was hot buns and today it was cake. Honestly, while I was struggling to even get into a sitting position on my couch I was told I couldn't get cake and I literally, ( and I'm not lying ) started to cry. It's a really silly thing to cry over, but honestly, I really wanted cake that I couldn't help myself. Some strawberry pie helped though, and I went from pouty to happy in about a few seconds :)

I got my (monthly) period the DAY WE WERE LEAVING FOR A HIKINGGGGG TRIP TO SEE MY BFF WHO I HAD NOT SEEN I 2 YEARSSSS

I was so happy to see her but anything she said wanted to make me either cry or yell!! I had to remind my self that this was my BEST FRIEND

Let me tell you, playing tag with period cramps is NOT fun (Hiking is not either lol)

And it also bled through my pants and stained my fav pj pants
