Here in the UK it's done by age group, I just got my text yesterday from the NHS to invite me for mine. As I'm under 40 I think I'm getting Pfizer/Moderna instead of the AstraZeneca, but I won't know until I get there. I'm booked in for next Tuesday. A few of my friends have had it already (husband included) and have had varying reactions from just a sore arm to full-on headaches, chills, aches and nausea/vomiting lasting from a 1 day to a week. Still, I'll take that over Covid.
And to any Covid-deniers or anti-vaxxers: I *WILL* fight you on this.
One thing to remember guys, it's not just about the death toll. I have had 2 friends die from Covid (one older and with some health issues, the other young and apparently healthy), but aside from that, the long-covid that seems more prevalent in younger people can ruin your life. Friend similar age to me, very fit and healthy (extreme sports, marathon runner, decathalons, etc), got covid last June and it wasn't that bad, wasn't hospitalised or anything... STILL cannot climb stairs without gasping for breath and having pain in his lungs. The doctors think that the scarring caused internally will mean he will never be able to run or cycle or climb or dive again (all of his hobbies). We have kids in school who got it with very mild symptoms, but then MONTHS later they are still "not okay", unable to take part in sport, missing a lot of school due to just literally being too tired/out of breath to come in.
And anyone saying that the vaccine is somehow designed to kill people BeCaUsE ThE GoVeRnMeNt!!1!! - just, no. Seriously, world governments can't even agree on the most minor issues, or trade talks, peace deals, borders, climate, weapons................... and yet, amazingly, every government in the world managed to come together to collaborate on a hoax: that millions of people are dying to a new virus, and THEN on top of that, manufacture vaccines which they plan to use to kill their own citizens. Umhm. You do realise how ridiculous that sounds, yes?
