Hey y'all~
So I'm starting XC this coming season and it'll be my first year so I'm a bit underprepared and overwhelmed about it, especially seeing I'm starting in highschool whereas all my other sports I started 6th grade-middle school
Anywaysss one of the guidelines is to buy a running watch, preferably Garmin, but I've come to find out that those are kinda expensive :") And I'm sadly not made of money-
Since I'm a bit unexperienced in this range of sports and none of my family is too well educated on any running watches, I was asking around to see if anyone knew of similar running watches, that aren't as much dinero~
If it comes to be, I am assuming yes my parents will buy the Garmin watch for me to use (I'll offer to pay for some of it though), but we'd rather see if there's a cheaper yet similar one first.
So that being said, are any of y'all experienced in xc and know of a good running watch for it? And if you aren't sure of other watches, what would you say is the best Garmin running watch for xc for it's price?
leave the school and become a dropout B3

We ended up buying the Garmin Forerunner 35 for about $100 if anyone was curious
So far seems to work well for what I need

Ah... unfortunately I didn't end up actually competing >.>" We had a lot of stuff going on during the summer so I wasn't able to practice when I needed. I didn't want to suddenly "quit" (even though it technically never started besides pre practice) but after talking through it with my parents we decided it was just something that might be best not to go through for some other reasons as well I still enjoy runs on my own, just not the sport itself~ I do feel a bit bad having my parents buying a watch when I ended up not doing it, but they were supportive of the decision so I appreciate that. And I still put my watch to use everyday, my wrist feels a bit naked without it, haha.
I'm sure I would have loved the sport if the timing on everything was a bit different and I hope to be participating in different runs around the community in the future as well :3 Something my family and I do every year is the St. Jude walk/run so that's always something I love doing, and one of my uncles participates in a lot of marathons and other runs so I definitely use that as inspiration for my own running goals as well~
