so in the past i owned 3 guinea pigs and 2 rats, both of which we basically forced on me by my ex at the time. it was miserable because i had no idea how to care for these things which obviously meant their quality of life was lacking. fast forward; dumped the ex, surrendered the pets to a friend, and after almost a year i just adopted a syrian male the other day. i bought him a sad little temp cage and brought him home. his name is sir galahad btw. so i ordered a perma cage and it was a vertical wire cage because at the time i thought it would best suit his needs, which i quickly found was not the case. not quick enough because i still had to order the cage, but who cares?!? i’ve got a beautiful and MASSIVE niteangel enclosure coming in a few days and i couldn’t be more excited. it’s honestly driving me crazy cuz he’s stuck in that <lousy> little cage and at times it makes me a little claustrophobic just looking at him. so sad, but for such a big payoff. i just wish it would come sooner cuz i can tell he’s had about enough of 6 inches of bedding and a wheel. time for 12 inches of bedding and all the enrichment he could dream of. cheers!
