Art of The Month

Hello everyone! I am going to be bringing back AOTM, which I haven't done since.. *cough cough* May 2021. IArt of the month is a contest where you enter a piece of art relating to my decided theme, and people will vote on who's is the best/winner!

 

Entries: 3rd -  25th June
Voting: 26th - 29th June
Winner announced: 1st July 

Rules

 

1. Anyone can enter this contest, even if you've won before.
2. You cannot use a winning piece of art from a previous AOTM.
3. Enter only one photo per month.
4. Art must be your own creation. No stealing photos from the Internet or other members.
5. No pity posts (ex. "Oh, my photo will never win... :( ")
6. Keep editing to cropping/resizing/sharpness/etc.
7. All images, posts and comments must abide by forum rules.
8. Old artworks are allowed as long as it fits the theme.

 

Types of Art Allowed:

 Basically anything relating to art! Paintings, sketches, sculptures, drawings, digital drawings etc. Just pm me if you're unsure if your art will be allowed. Music, photography and things like that are sadly not allowed in this contest.

 

How To Enter

Once you have taken / selected your photo, you will need to host it on an image hosting site such as Imgur or Imgbb. Post your photo in this thread following the instructions below.

1. Go to this website: https://imgbb.com
2. Hit the blue "Start Uploading" button
3. Select your picture
4. Upload it
5. Copy and paste either the Image Link or BBCode into your reply.

IMGUR Tutorial

1. Go to this website http://imgur.com/

2. Click “New post” or click this link: https://imgur.com/upload

3. Select your photo and wait for it to upload

4. Click copy link 

5. To embed the image into your post click “Get share links” and click “BBcode forums”

 

Theme

This month's theme is water. Your artwork must have some sort of water, a lake, ocean, droplet, rain, etc. PM me if you are unsure if your art fits the theme.

 

Prize

 The prize is a banner. If only one person enters, then they will automatically win the banner.

The Art of the Month is a good idea, but it needs to be more than just a monthly showcase. There should be some sort of prize or award given to the best artwork, perhaps even an art contest with a grand prize. This would help push people to take up the challenge of creating their own piece of art and share it with the world.
