Hi everyone,
I know there is a topic on this but it didn't quite answer my question,
Is twine safe to use to make diy hamster toys, is it safe for them to digest, if it's not safe what are the alternatives?

Thank you,
Happyhammies26

I am pretty sure that sisal and jute are safe just make sure it’s untreated but you can also use sea grass rope. I personally have used sisal and jute and so far so good.

I'm not sure if this is common or not, but also just make sure it's 100% natural material. I could see some company trying to cheap out and use plastic/wool string in the middle to cheapen things out. :P

As long as that's all set though twine is great! I used it a lot for my DIYs and my mice especially loved chewing on it. :)

I personally use hemp string and it works nicely! It is thinner than any sisal i have found. I use it to make bridges for my mice/hamsters and to hang things up.
