Hi so Willow was labeled as a Russian Dwarf/Winter White in PetSmart so I am going off of that or maybe that she is a dwarf Hybrid. What size are these species of Hamsters typically? I am planning on getting a scale on August 18th and so I think I heard like 50 grams and obviously anything way over that is overweight and anything super under that is underweight but what size should she be?

There is a very large range, as long as they look healthy (not to skinny, not too round) then they should be fine. :) Usually it is 40g - 60g however i have heard of many being more or less. :)  My past dwarf weighed 48g and was perfectly healthy.

I agree the range can vary alot I wouldn't get too stressed out about it. Plus, depending on her age she could be still growing. Once you start weighing her regularly, you'll see what "normal" is. You basically, just don't want her too "rotund" or where you can feel her hip bones when you hold her.

My dwarf weighed 44 g. She was in normal shape. Remember, if you weight your hamster many times, it may be different because of how full her cheek pouches are ;)

Dwarfs come in a range of lengths. 50g on a short hamster is much different than 50g on a long hamster. Rather than aiming for a particular number, look at her overall shape and weigh her to observe for any unexpected weight changes.

Pouched food can affect the numbers at weigh-in more than you'd think. So try to weigh her when she's not carrying anything around.

Okay thank you! I look for both. And maybe post a picture at some point to get some more input.
