Hey, I'm not sure if there will be any way to access HH after the closure, but assuming there won't be, I wanted to let you guys know about the Internet Archive: https://archive.org/
Basically, it's a way to access archived internet webpages. If you copy in the url of the webpage you want to view into the Wayback Machine, it will come up with a timeline showing all the times in the past that webpage has been saved to the archive, and you can view what the webpage looked like at that point in time.
This is the current archived forum: https://web.archive.org/web/20220714173254/http://hamsterhideout.com/
If you have a browse, you'll find that some of the links on the forum homepage work, and some don't. This is because not all threads have been archived. It seems like many of the pinned posts (particularly the ones on hamster care) have been archived though, so this is a great way to access the information even when the forum is shut down.
If there is anything from the forum you would like to archive and access later, this is how you do it.
1. Go to: https://archive.org/
2. Click "web"
3. Under "save page now", copy in the url of the page you want to add to the archive.
4. Click "save page". This will make the page available for everyone to view on the Internet Archive.
If you create an account on the Internet Archive and want to save posts that are meaningful to you, tick the option "save also in my web archive", and a link to that page will be available to view on your account.
I know there are people who wanted to be able to access HH information after the forum is shut down, and I hope this is helpful. I'm very sad to see this forum go, but I'll be working on archiving some things in the coming days so I don't lose them entirely. I hope you guys will too so we can preserve as much of HH as we can before closure to look back on in the future <3
