So I figured out how to do fonts, brushes and how to set things up. But now when I use the brushes, they're WAY too large. The only way suggested that I scale it down manually.
How can I do it any other way? Is there a shortcut on the keyboard like PS has [ ] ? Thanks!

To scale down brushes, you can use the [ and ] keys, or move the little "scale" (or whatever it's called) bar from 1.00 to something smaller.

Yup, it works in Gimp, I use it when I can't be bothered to bring up the toolbox to change the brush size xP
