hawker centers:

- maxwell market - sweet potato balls, oyster cake, steamsoup, har kao (prawn dumpling) ...
- army market chicken rice, bak kut prawn noodles, char quay tiao
- hougang old central coffeshop fish steamboat & beef noodles
- clementi market porridge & tanglin halt western food

Japanese restaurants:
- the japanese restaurant at liang court b1 serves very nice gomuku ramen... only $8
- the Japanese restaurant near sketches at level 1 bugis junction is pertually 1/2 price... good value. There's another Japanese restaurant (start with H) at level 2 (the floor where all the restaurants are) which is also quite nice
- coveyer belt : sakae sushi and genki sushi kekeke

heard theres a good steamboard at parkway foodcourt, anyone try b4?

HMm....i tried the steamboat at parkway (basement) ....the tomyam IS GREAT !!!! not oily at all...u know la...usually those pple add chilli oil so tat the tomyam is spicy......perhaps i like it abit more "sour" ....the dumpling is oso YUMMY ~ drooling liao.....but wat lixx says, it's exp loh....maybe u can try it ya.....

or if u wan cheaper deal, go Marina south....tat "zhen fa" live prawns n crabs......i simply LUV the prawns....it will really jump der n here n pop all over the place if u bbq it...usually i juz throw bit by bit into the soup ya...the soup will taste "sweet" ...YUMMY....i tink it's $12 during wkends.....4got liao....it's worth tat price for live prawns n crabs ya...but dun go too late, if not, they dun haf stock then u wont get any...then not worth it liao......

OOoH....n hor.....if u see the staff cutting the fruits, go Q up even if u haf not finish ur food...they only sever fruits at 8pm+ (shd be ard tat time) ...once tat time is over, der's no more fruits liao ya.....

1 bad thing abt tat place is u only haf limited utensils...u need to wash it if necessary ya......

he can afford to be stuck up, coz business is good, imagine if his business is poor and his attitude is like that, can ask him to go back and fly kite liao.
for me i would also not patronize such stall if the boss has a bad attitude, no matter how good the food is.
