Filing for a copyright is very easy. Fill out a form, send in a nominal fee and poof....its done! You can also take a card....mail it to yourself in an envelope....and do not open it. If someone ever "stole" your idea....you can take it to court and the sealed envelope with the postal mark is evidence of the date of the idea. So unless someone can prove that they did the card before your mailing (which they can't because it was your original)....you are safely protected.
