I want to be a vegetarian because it's not right to kill an animal just to please someone's appetite. We would be perfectly healthy without it, so I don't see why we need it.

You should wait until you are at least 18. You are still growing and need that protien.

I live animals ugly or cute. But I dont think it is cruel to eat them. They dont kill the babies like KFC. They let them live firs, so its not like they arent letting them live a while.

Maybe so, but I can get protein from other things. I know someone who has been a vegetarian for as long as I can remember (at least since she was 8 years old), and she's really healthy. I rarely eat meat anyway, so if there's anything I need from it that I wouldn't be getting as a veggie, doesn't matter because I'm not getting it now anyway.

To each their own. But the fact is, those animals do *not* live good lives while they are alive. They don't die humanely, either. In the type of living conditions that they are most likely in, it is probably best that they do die, as awful as that sounds. And by eating the meat, I'm supporting the way they treat the animals. That is what I find cruel.

What about veal? That is baby cows. They are taken from their mothers as young as one day old and chained in tiny stalls to be raised as veal. They can't even turn around or lie down comfortably. Sure they get to live for a while, but their quality of life is terrible.

Cheeky this post is in no way meant to flame or upset you. I'm just throwing things out there. ;)

if you dont like the way they live before they die,why dont you get your parents to buy free ranged meats like mamagirl suggested?that way they arent chained up in stalls & they get to live a life.

You can get the protein from beans, but you should eat them frequently. Ask mom and dad if they can teach you how to cook beans and stock up on them. :)

I think It would be cool to be a vegitarian, but I tried, and It was just to hard for me. I thought of all the mrat I would have to give up, Including... :yummy: chicken teryaki. Plus, I felt tired constantly becaus of all the meat I ate previously to becomeing veg. Currently, I am not veg, but I want to try again. The moral to my post is....
Make sure you gradualy slow down eating meat. Like, maybe first eliminate cows, or just chickens, or just pigs. Then eliminate one more, then more, then eventually, you will be meat free! good luck to every one!

I'm not full-vegetarian, I don't eat beef that much anymore, just occassionally. Even though my parents beg me to eat meat because they say I need protein, but I eat chili cheese fries at school. Other good protein foods are beans, nuts: almonds, pecans, peanuts, cashews, more.
I still eat bacon and chicken, not KFC anymore.

I'm thinking about putting this off until I'm older and living at my own place. That way I can cook my own meals, and hopefully won't be as tempted to give up and eat meat. :undecided:

A lot of vegetarian meals have veggies in them, no? That's another thing making it difficult, because I honestly don't think there is a single vegetable I like. I love basically every fruit, though! I just...can't give up my meat. :crybuckets:

i was a vegetarian for like 3 months i think..i am not sure why i quit though.it was kinda easy to give up meat beacause i love almost all veges.but i still dont know y. i have a question. people ask vegetarians why they dont eat meat....they say because it was once living or somthing...non veges say its not making a difference, its not like the whole world is gonna stop eating meat because u did. i dont get it....
