Hi I have a question in regards to this notice. I make banners off of ribbet.com and powerpoint and am wondering if I have to give credits to them? I also use funny pics and am not sure if I have to give credits to them or not? Is this strictly just to cartoonizedpets.com or not? Sorry for all the questions just want to make sure I am not violating any law of some sort. Thank you for the notice. :)

All you have to do is check to ensure there are no copyright or notices of usage. Places like cooltext allow people to use their fonts without any credit needed. I can look into ribbet in more detail tomorrow... but mainly what is concerning here are actual graphics, drawings, etc, that are made by artists and are meant to be sold on items.. they are easily copy and pasted for internet use, but these things are copyrighted, and therefore the creators must be credited.

As for using powerpoint, you don't have to share that, as anyone can make things on ppt and not be like "thank you, microsoft" lol. If you have the product (ppt, microsoft) installed, then you gave them credit via your money :) If that makes sense.

But above all, if you didnt physically draw a graphic, then it's improper to claim that you did. When in doubt, give credit. But things like Microsoft ppt, and cooltext do not require it.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong on that, though.

Ok thank you so much I was just interested because I was nervous that I might have done something wrong. Thank you for all the information and am glad that people will hopefully give people credit when necessary. I have one last question though. Sorry for all the questions but If someone requests from you and then figures out from their where you got/ how you did what ever you did then puts it in their own request shop should they credit you or no? Thanks! :)

Sorry, it's really not the responsibility of the Mods to edit and give credit. We are really busy with our own things and Mod things going on. Each member here is responsible to give credit where credit is due.

I do have one question concerning this - what about direct-linking?

I have noticed that some of the images are being directly linked to this forum and I know that by direct-linking, it can cause a traffic overload on the original website every time the forum page is viewed.

That is a great question! I have been wondering about this as well.
