Oh no! I think my hamster has a cold or respiratory infection! I have noticed that when she is awake, she sometimes sneezes. The problem is, I don't know how old she is. I got her from a pet store
But anyways, good info!

Age doesn't affect if a hamster can have a cold/respiratory infection. You'll need to figure out which one it is to find out how to treat it. :) Thanks!

Awesome job on this topic EscapingHammies :applause:

Full of detailed advice too. I'm definitely going to be using this guide for weekly check ups with my hammy - I'll do one right now

Thanks!

Excellent post! It's great to have a proper method of checking our hamsters' health and knowing what to look for, great job! :fluffy:

Thank you!

Hi Hamster Hideout! I can't tell, but I think my hamster might be losing some fur on his upper back. I was just going to ask if anyone knows of some things that can help hamsters' fur? Please help! I've heard that flax seeds help, but I was wondering if flax oil did too. Do sunflower seeds help???

What are genitals

These are the hamsters "private parts".

What is a scent glade
What are testes

Testes are part of a male hamsters private parts.

A scent gland is a special gland hamsters have that excretes special scent-producing material to help a hamster mark it's territory. In dwarfs the glands are located on their belly. On Syrian hamsters, they have a scent gland on each hip.

Thank you so much. This is way easier to follow than some of the other guides I've found. It's more complete.
