I hope you guys don't mind me asking, but may I ask WHY this rule was changed?
I assume because it was a MASSIVE amount of effort on the mods' part to try to maintain the previous rules.
I mean, just look at the last topic in the "Feedback" forum about the "Youtube in status bar" issue.... the rules literally couldn't have been made any clearer ("Don't mention Youtube.") ...and yet there were a hundred or so posts of people saying "Well, what if I say this instead?" "Or how about if I phrase it like this?" "Or if I just mention my fav youtubers name?!".... a ton of people just trying to get around the rule or work out a way to basically talk about Youtube without getting into trouble.
Seriously. It wasn't a difficult rule to follow, but people just couldn't deal with it. Maybe it was too complex for their Youtubed minds.
But anyway, it was a nightmare to moderate, I imagine, as the status bar moves so quickly that the mod literally has to be online and looking at the status bar or a status needs to be reported) for this to be enforced.
The new rules make a lot of sense. When making a status, think of it like a topic. Would you make 6 topics in one day, and in each one tell us which video you're watching? No? Well, don't give us 6 status updates doing the same.
