hey, i was just looking thru some of these forums that you guys made. many of them are very similar to HamsterHideout in terms of categories.

i was just wondering, if it's all the same, why not post here? we have a lot more members and surely it's more fun? for example, whimiscalhamster, you have the exact categories as HH, right down to 'Other Interests'! what are the advantages of posting at your forum? also, it's not very nice to copy another site's categories. Hamtaro Ham Ham, you call yourself 'Hamster Boss' on your forum?

P.S. a reminder please! you cannot advertise your forums in your signatures, this is the only topic you can do so in.

Dusty brings up a valid point.

We had our own forum "hammie hangout" at one time, the categories were a little different, more chat, games, stories, etc., but later deleted it. We definitely left all the Hamster Care boards to HH...because this is vital hamster information that just can't be equaled to the info here at HH!

Later, we decided to put our efforts into a website showcasing our animals instead, along with MG's thoughts and opinions on life and general.

We just figured that this is such a great place and it has something for everyone, why divide our time between the two! Also HB and Dusty are great at taking suggestions for more topics and forum ideas.

Im sorry Dusty. I know ig uess it was sort of a cheap knockoff. Ill try and change title, diff catagories, and different subjects. :( Sorry if ive offended you...

The reason why most people create new forums is because they like the sense of knowing their Admin or Mod. They can create there own colors, theme, subjects and all that. Ill never stop visiting here but its nice to look look around something other then just HH.

So were not aloud to post forums in our siggys? Aww.... :(I understand... Can i leave a link about HH thought? Like the one about to vote for the Fiction Contest?

I did anothere of you're ideas, but I kinda forgot what it was. I promise to make the rest of my website different! Amd I'll never stop visiting this site too!!

whimiscalhamster and hamtaro ham-ham, sure i understand fully the need to explore and create something which you feel that you own, like you said, being your own admin and choosing your own colours. it is a good way to learn about stuff. i can't stop you from creating your own forum of course, i'm just wondering about what other things you can provide which are of value to members. i don't think people will go to different places to talk about the same thing again.

i'm not offended, don't worry! :goodvibes: you all are nice, friendly and enthusiastic members and i thank you for that. :)

it's because all the ideas for HamsterHideout come from HB, and therefore i wish to help protect her rights.

P.S. yes, you can include things like links to participate in your contests. no problem. the "no forum advertsing" rule is used by most other forums too if you go around and see them. that's because each forum takes a considerable time to build up it's membership, and it wouldn't be nice to just divert traffic away from them. like i always say, it's a little like going into Walmart and telling all the shoppers there to go Kmart. ;)

Dusty has some good points.

I made a forum mostly because for a long time now I've always wanted to make one, but I had no way to get members. I figured that now I could actually get members on my forum, so why not make one? Maybe not the best idea...?

And sorry if I "stole" some of the categories from HH. I tried not to, but after coming up with no ideas I thought it would be alright if a few categories were the same. :undecided:

Anyway, sorry for the copying! ;D

I'm sorry. I'll head to my website and give you guys credit!

~edit~ I put a credit speach in news and announcements telling all the things I've copied so you guys get all the credit. I also am putting a link to you're forum so you'll have more members!

~edit~Me and whimsicalhamster are changing the menu names like Hamster Care to Hamster Health. And Ailments and Injurys to Injurys and Ailments. I added anothere link in the Test Zone wich will soon be called Hamster Testing or something like that.

I could change it if you like. To be truthful, I don't really like it either. I'll change it to something else. Did you notice whimsicalhamster is changed Hamster Care to Hamster Health?
