"Must be some sort of curse. But why, why me?" I shaked my head, sighing.

I've got to figure out why this is happening to me.

I didn't even realize Iris was approaching me.

 

"Hey, uh.... I never got your name, what is it?" She asked me, sitting down.

"Sapphire." She squinted at me then shaked her head, as if she was trying to say she knew I wasn't called Sapphire but the name reminded her of something. "Okay fine, I'm Kiwi. In this life, I'm Kiwi." 

She sighed, saying, "I don't understand what you mean by this life. You only have one life! Now let's not talk about that, I want to discuss something else. We want to attempt to escape this bin." Iris said quietly, waiting for my response.

"No. Absolutely not. The cats will eat us. I'm not going. Even though we'll die here with or without the cats, I'm not going to do it." I mumbled, shivering at the thought of my last encounter with a cat.

Iris sighed again and shrugged, probably agreeing.

 

The next day, the same thing happened. All the girls came over to me and told me they were escaping.

"We have to try. There's a tiny chance we will get past them, Kiwi. It's the only way we'll get out of this situation." Amber declared.

"But what will we do when we are outside, huh?"

"Anything is better than here." Ivy stated, standing up and peeking out of the tiny crack in the bin. "Let's move, there are no cats in sight."

This is not going to end well.

They all huddled together at the front of the bin, planning to jump out the little crack between the shelf and the bin. Iris looked at me and beckoned for me to come. I sadly trudged over to them.

"Okay. Let's go."

We all leaped out the crack, landing hardly on the cold white marble floors stained with animal remains and cat waste. The other girls walked quickly ahead, running through the aisles of sick animals. We were almost at the door. One more meter! I thought.

 

A cat pounced on my siblings in front out of nowhere. Without thinking, I jumped onto the cats face, clawing it's snake- like eyes. My heart was sprinting, but I didn't care. I needed to save my siblings. The cat got ready to strike at me, it's sharp claws out.

 

"GO!" I screamed to my horror struck siblings.

Weeping, they ran out the door, making feeble attempts to save me by kicking the cat. The cat didn't care. As soon as they were out the door, he smashed me with his nails, then walked away. I was left there on the floor, bleeding furiously.

 

And back to the white again.

Earlier this year my cat caught a hamster and left it on my pillow.

Welp- at least she didn't eat the hamster

Aww, thanks! I don't know when more will be out because I have school and a Zoom call tomorrow so I won't have any time, but maybe on Thursday or Friday!
