Hello Everyone!

What are your opinions on the tiny tails firetruck cage? Post them here.

Here is my personal opinion:

So, tiny tales has been making these “cages” for a pretty long amount of time. Recently,

I was walking in Petsmart, and I saw this: the tiny tails firetruck. At first when I looked at it, I was a little bit excited. I thought they made a somewhat decent sized cage (obviously I would never keep a hamster in here, nor do I reccomend anyone do so, I just thought it was a step in the right direction). But then I looked closer at it, and I saw that it came with flashing lights. Obviously, I was not excited about this, because hamsters don’t need flashing lights attached to their cages. It also came with wheels. I could just imagine a kid pushing it around with the hamster still in it! I think this cage could cause a lot of problems, and overall, I don’t like it.

Thanks for reading, and maybe replying!

I don't like it. Not one bit. I hate it less than the other cages, but it's still awful. It still promotes the idea that hamsters are toys, and that's the biggest thing for me.

I agree with you, it's "better" than before because of the more solid space with minimal connections, tubes, and tight spaces.. but in no way would I ever recommend it to anyone, or applaud anyone who has it.

It is still a bad, kid directed cage, and shouldn't be used in any circumstances.

I also at first thought it was a "step in the right direction" as you said, but it is still a toy, and is just proof that they are going to make more toys. A genuine step in the right direction would honestly be tiny tales producing a cage similar to a crittertrail. I mean sure, the size of those cages are horrible, but tiny tales are so much more dangerous so just a solid space (even if its small), with no lights, no attachments, and minimal tubes would probably be the only thing I would consider improvement, as there could be a chance that they would make that solid space larger, similar to how crittertrail made the super habitat.

:)

I completely agree with you.

Yup, I 100% agree with what everyone has said.

Tiny tails must perish

I also just saw that the litter ladder thing MOVES

You know what this reminds me of? One of those poly pocket play sets. Ugh

The wheel in it also looks extremely small

I forgot to mention that. I agree. What is it, like a 6 inch wheel? And you also can’t fit any other wheel in there

I agree with everyone else. I don't like how TinyTales make hamsters seem like toys to kids. The cage is literally a toy!

It’s definitely not a good cage but it is a step up from cages like the dinosaur. But you can’t fit a properly size wheel or anything on it’s but it isn’t as inhumane as say, the rocket ship cage.

Imo, it isnt a good cage. :(

1) it is under 450 sq inches, (its 448 sq inches) which is the BARE MINIMUM for some people's standars. (not mine, just some people's)

2) How on earth would you clen that thing?

3) The hamster woul just chew out in a minute. There is just so flimsy plastic.

4)The hamster would just hide 24/7, because of the platform thing, so the kid would just loose interst real fast.

5)Not enough burrowing room

6)if there was an emergency, it would take forever to get them out, or you'd just have take the whole thing.

7)You cant fit most toys, like a propper sized wheel. The largest wheel woul have to be a 7" wheel that you could fit.

8)flashing lights. Just...why?

Imo, there is just too much wrong with it to be a decent cage. Also, it is $100??? Thats soooo much money for a literal toy.

It is one step closer to better care, but still, I wouldnt get it when I coul get the 3700 sq inch Ikea PAX for $105. Or a 600sq inch bin cage for $20.

This is just my opinion. It is MUCH better than the dino or the rocethip though.

I agree. I don’t think it’s inhumane nessacarily, but my main worry with it, is young kids wanting the cage, and not having anything to put in it, so they get a hamster, gerbil, mouse, that they cannot care for, and treat it as a toy, because they think it is a toy. Toys don’t need food right?  :fryingpan: . But it is a step up, and I guess probably the best tiny tales cage (which isn’t saying a lot)

I guess I agree like, they made progress by making the cage a bit bigger than most of theirs but they just had to ruin it by putting on lights and wheels, how's that poor hamster going to get any sleep?? Istg cages like that make me so mad especially the parents for not doing any research at all like, you're the adult in this situation and you should know hamsters aren't toys.

I kinda agree with what people said above, just wanted to add that Munchie's Place did a really good review on this! It's very informative.

I think that it's good it's a 'decent' size. But there are soo many other problems that I would never ever keep a hamster in there at all.

Ya definetly. I watched munchies place review, and I agree with everything she said. I honestly think the cage is ugly too. I would definetly not keep a hamster in their, or reccomend anyone do so
