I do not support any of the Tiny Tales cages. I got one of the princess castle turret things for a size comparison to a Syrian hamster. He came very close to getting stuck. Their cages strike me as being potentially dangerous as well as hard to clean. They are marketing towards children and parents who don't research or don't care. The only product I do enjoy from them is their chew toys but I prefer Oxbow toys when I can get them.

I would like this but...

I just think the whole problem of bad hamster care and terrible cage stems from brands like Tiny Tails making products that get them money. You know it’s bad when a products price tag and aesthetics get in the way of the actually practicality and welfare of the animals placed inside :( they make me want to scream! And sure it’s a tiny little bit better than say a CritterJail but still it’s just... uggggghhhhhhhhhh

So glad I don’t even have to explain my long ugh here lol

I agree. I also think it’s bad when you first want to buy a cage, then the hamster.

Even if a better size, the brand still pushes non-suitable sizes and cages for hamsters and doesn't promote proper care standards. Cage is probably also cheap/flimsy and not escape proof. Low quality without care for hamster well-being

Imo, it isnt a good cage. :(

1) it is under 450 sq inches, (its 448 sq inches) which is the BARE MINIMUM for some people's standars. (not mine, just some people's)
.

come on, just 2 inches below the minimum, and SQUARE,that’s wouldn’t even fit a small bowl,I know hamsters need big spaces, but hamsters don’t need exact numbers to be happy (my 106 qt bin its 435 sq in he’s from the base and 453 if you add like 3 inches of bedding, but it’s also connected to a 16 gallon bin that it’s like 175 sq inches and it’s used for burrow),otherwise, this cage it’s still pretty bad,it has no depth bedding zone, small wheel, cheap plastic, this would only work for mice, but I still don’t reccomend it

I don’t think this would work for mice at all. Mice need well-ventilated cages more so than hamsters because of the amount of ammonia they produce. Some people don’t even like using tanks for mice (though I’ve used tanks with no issues), and those have much more ventilation than the Tiny Tales cage. The wheel is also too small for mice, due to their long tails. It also doesn’t provide much vertical space for bedding or climbing toys. Overall, I wouldn’t use this cage for any animal. It’s overpriced for what it is and has poor design.

Also, I’ve noticed you’ve been replying to a lot of older topic. Granted, it doesn’t matter much at all now because HH is going to be gone very soon, but it’s discouraged on all forums I’ve been part of to reply to older topics. It’s good to know if you ever plan on joining any other forums in the future.
