Chapter Eleven

No ones P.O.V.

After a week or two Marie had finally settled in to life at the compound.
Maria Hill had gone back to S.H.I.E.L.D.
Marie did fight training with Natasha and Wanda and Pepper watched a lot of Disney movies with her when she wasn't outside running on the track or drawing in the woods.

On Monday after breakfast Friday informed her that Tony and Bruce would like to see her in the lab.
Marie made her way to the lab where Bruce and Tony were waiting.
She knocked on the door frame and they both looked up.
"Please come in." Bruce said politely as he dissolved the holographic screen he was working on and stepped around the desk.
"Come over here, Tony and me have a few questions." She nodded and sat down on one of the couches.
"How can I help?"
Tony walked, over dragging one of the holographic screens.
"We just need to know what kind of education you've had. I mean did they teach math and stuff? Here, what grade are you in?"
She blinked at him. "Gr-grade? I don't know what you mean."
Bruce pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Okay this isn't working. Um, can you write out some of what you know about, uhh, let's start with math, on one of the boards?"
He handed her a touch screen pen.
"Ummm, okay." She took a step forward and started to write some simple mathematics.

Then as she started to get into harder math problems her eyes slid out of focus and she seemed to be on autopilot. She wouldn't respond when they tried to get her attention so they sat back to watch.

Finally after a few minutes Tony tapped her on the shoulder. She jumped and turned around to face them.
She looked surprised at the looks on their faces. Bruce was a mix of mild surprise and confusion and Tony was just pure shock.
"What?" She asked starting to feel self conscious as their eyes stayed trained on her.
Bruce is the first to get over what ever came over them.
"Where did you learn quantum physics?"
Marie turned around to look at the board. She recognized the basic rules of quantum physics written in her slightly messy handwriting.
She narrowed her eyes as she tried to recall the memory.
"Um. One of the younger scientists was doing a quiz that one of the head scientists gave him and I caught a glimpse of it."
Bruce walked over to study her work.
"But to be able to recall what you only got a glimpse of in such detail you would have to have some kind of photographic memory."
She looked like she was about to answer when Friday spoke.
"Miss Marie, Wanda and Natasha would like to see you in the training room as soon as possible."
She looked at the two guys. Tony sighed and Bruce told her to go see what they needed and they would pick this up a different time.

Marie made her way to the training room.
She walked in and walked over to the two women.
"Did I do something wrong?"
Natasha always made her feel guilty.
"No you're fine. I just thought that Wanda could give you a few lessons." Natasha informed her.
Marie thought about it. She didn't really need them. She had studied Wanda's hand movements since 2015.
"I thought I could teach you to change your appearance. If that's okay." Wanda said politely.
Marie smiled widely.
"I'd like that."

A few minutes later Wanda and Marie sat on the floor cross legged across from each.
"Now focus on what you want to happen. Feel the energy flow through you."
Marie closed her eyes and blocked out all other noises.
Her normally curly hair straightened and grew to her waist. Now a sleek and shiny mane of hair that emphasized her true color.
It was dark brown with light, almost metallic highlights.
Marie looked up to see the bright smile on Wanda's face.
"That. was so. COOL!"
She gave her a big hug then handed her a mirror.
Marie studied her reflection.
Her hair was beautiful.
It seemed to be made up of tiny lights that moved with every slight twitch of her head.
She smiled brightly at Wanda and gave her a hug.
Then she heard someone move behind her in the doorway and looked around to see Steve, Sam, and Clint watching her.
"Do you guys need this room? Cause we can leave." Wanda inquired as she stood up and helped Marie to her feet.
"You're welcome to stay. If you do you can watch me beat both Clint and Steve at a push up challenge."
Sam bragged.

The three girls looked at each other.

"We're in. I'll be the referee if you let Nat compete." Wanda said confidently.
The boys looked at each other and seemed to make a silent agreement to make sure Nat doesn't win. They would never hear the end of it from Tony.
"Agreed." They said simultaneously.
They all shook hands and got in their starting positions.
Wanda sat to the side where they could all see her and Marie sat behind the men and started to braid her hair.
"Ready. Set. Go!" Wanda yelled.
They all went at the same pace so they could keep score.
After about 120 Sam got tired and dropped out. At 187 Clint dropped out.
Steve was sweating now but still going.
Both boys stared at Nat in amazement as she kept up with Steve.
To be fair the only reason she had stayed in as long as she had was because of Marie refreshing all her muscles as she started to tire out. She hid the movements of her fingers by braiding her hair.
Steve finally stopped at 225 and Natasha stopped at 227 both of them panting and sweating.
"Natasha is today's WINNER!!" Wanda cheered as she ran over to Nat, lifting her hand in the air.
Steve got up and shook hands with her with a smile and Sam and Clint fell backwards with loud groans as an unbelieving voice rang out.
"Nat beat all of you?!"
Marie turned to see Tony standing there with the biggest smile on his face.

So sry I haven't updated but while I was copying the chapter from my writing app I accidentally deleted half of the chapter and haven't had the time with personal stuff going on to re write it. Hopefully I'll get it down by next Monday.....
