Chapter One
No one's P.O.V
Briar Rose ran through the forest as fast as she could force herself to go.
She looked over her shoulder to see the trees she had just passed, bending and blocking any one from following her. The branches weaving themselves tightly to fill the space in between the trunks.
She gave a small smile but turned away from the sight as she tripped over a root sticking out of the ground and went rolling into a ditch.
She cried out when her arm hit a sharp rock and she clutched it painfully, then sat up and looked around at the ground.
There were a few more sharp rocks and a garden snake slithering at the other end of the ditch.
She took off her cross-body leather satchel, opened it, pulled out a small roll of bandages, and started to wrap her arm. When she finished wrapping it she cut the bandage with a small pair of scissors, then took a bobbi pin from her hair to fasten it.
After she had taken care of her bleeding arm she started to walk along the ditch looking for a way out. The ditch was deep and it had rained earlier that day so the walls were slippery and damp. After walking around the ditch for a while she realized she only had one option to get out.
She had to use her powers.
To be fair she had already used her powers in this forest. But that was different. The trees were easy to bend and twist to make a blockade, but to do something so she could climb out of the ditch would be much harder. Scarlet energy spun on her finger tips as she lifted her hand to the wall of the ditch and as she focused on the energy coursing through her the wall melted into a small staircase. She walked up it and as she turned back to it the walls of the ditch collapsed in on themselves and all that was left was a slight dip in the ground and a lot of mud.
She took a deep breath and turned to keep running along the trail she was following.
But she bumped into something metal, and fell to the ground.
Marie looked up to see Iron Man standing there looking down at her.
"A young girl like you shouldn't be out in the woods all alone." He said as his mask popped up so she could see his face. "That's impressive." He nodded to the covered up ditch. She stayed quiet, looking him up and down for signs of aggression or hostility.
Her gaze unnerved him.
"Do you have a name? " He asked. She nodded still scanning him. "Are you going to tell me what it is?" She shook her head slightly.
He sighed, "Alright." raised his hand, and blasted her in the chest. She fell to the ground and as she fell the trees fell back into place and the ditch cracked open.
"Sir." said an Irish sounding woman coming from his helmet.
"Yes Friday?" Asked Tony Stark as he squatted down near the girl. "I wouldn't touch her if I were you. She has an energy pulsing in side of her that is off the charts."
He touched her wrist.
He was repelled backwards with a bang into a tree.
"Noted." Stark groaned getting back on his feet. "How do I take her back to the compound if I can't touch her?" He walked over to where the young girl was unconscious on the ground. "Well, you could call for back up or wait until the energy levels die down, which might never happen depending on the source." Friday replied evenly.
"Okay. Call in Thor, Bruce, and Wanda." He said in a slightly defeated voice.
"Yes Sir. May I ask why these three?"
"Thor is a god, Banner is a scientist, and this girl's powers looked a lot like Wanda's."
About an hour later a Quinn Jet landed close by. Thor, Bruce, and Wanda walked off the ramp. Followed by Clint, Natasha, and Maria Hill.
"What are you doing here?"
"You told us to come." Said Bruce calmly.
"I know I told you three, but what about Nat, Clint, and Hill? Why are you here?"
"Thought you could use the backup and Fury sent Maria to keep an eye on you and this whole situation." Said Natasha evenly.
Stark nodded, sighed deeply then said. "Well, I need some help. I can't touch her because of the of energy coursing through her."
Bruce nodded and started to scan the girl with a tablet mumbling to himself while Wanda and Thor walked over to her.
Wanda bent down and reaching her hand to the girl's forehead started to reach inside the girl's mind. After a few seconds the girl cried out in pain and Wanda was repelled backwards into Thor who caught her and set her back on her feet.
"What happened?!" Asked Thor who was still holding Wanda up.
"Something stopped me from entering and it must have hurt her or I did unknowingly." Wanda answered, her voice shaking slightly. She nodded to Thor and he let go.
"I wouldn't touch her if I were you." Said Bruce as Thor stepped towards the girl. They all looked at him and he, feeling their eyes on him, looked up from his tablet.
"The energy inside her spiked when Wanda touched her. I think it's trying to protect her from anything she would think of as hostile." Explained Bruce quickly.
Maria Hill walked over to where the girl's satchel lay and opened it.
Inside the first pocket was a very thin but soft blanket, a journal, a few sketch pencils, a first aid kit, travel sewing kit, and ten bucks. Maria pulled out the blanket and unfolded it.
"Carry her in this. The texture will probably comfort her enough for one of the guys to get her on the Quinn Jet." She said. Natasha nodded and helped her wrap the girl safely in the blanket. Then Clint picked her up and carried her into the jet where he laid her on a medical bed.
They decided that Clint should be the one to carry her because he was the only one who had kids, Thor might crush her, Tony was in a metal suit , Bruce wasn't paying attention, and the women were to small to carry her even if they were strong enough.
"So, what do we do with her now?" Asked Bruce.
"You can take her back to the compound if you inform Fury when she wakes up so he can question her." Maria Hill told Stark. "She is too dangerous to be in a S.H.E.I.L.D. facility and we don't have scientists as good as Banner to handle her." She explained farther, nodding to Bruce when Stark just stood there blinking at her.
"Okay. If that's what Eye Patch wants I'll call ahead and have them get a cell ready."
"No. Not a cell. Give the girl a room." Instructed Hill.
"Um. Am I the only one who thinks this girl is dangerous?" Asked Stark.
"It's because I think she is dangerous that I don't think her waking up to a cell and a locked door is a good idea. We don't know what she'll do or even what she can do." Replied Maria shortly.
"Fine. But if she ends up destroying the compound *You* are paying for it." He told her as he walked to the cockpit and sat down behind Clint who was in the pilot seat. Maria sat down in the co-pilot seat and they were ready to take off.
After a hour in the air they landed and Clint carried the girl off the jet and into the compound where Pepper was waiting to show him where the girl's room was.
The rest followed.
