The main point that I want to bring up is this:

Science is a method for questioning. If you no longer can ask questions, then it ceases to be science and is now a religion. As a lot of you know, I love research and read but I do not worship at the altar of "Science".

With that I leave you this: https://rumble.com/vnouq3-twitter-user-video-showing-the-shifting-narrative-in-vaccine-efficacy.html

I’m not understanding the relevancy of what you’ve linked. Of course the data is going to change. Covid is still very new and more information is constantly becoming available. For one, the more people that get vaccinated, the larger sample size you get and the more variety you’ll have in efficacy. Secondly, over time, immunity with some vaccines can wear off - like how you have to take a tetanus shot regularly. Not to mention that covid keeps on mutating, which makes it extremely difficult (if not impossible) to create a vaccine that protects against all variants.

I'll just throw in another point. YES the vaccine isn't 100% effective, but even if it only prevented 10% of transmission (or only reduced hospitalisations by 10% - surely anyone can see that's a good thing, no?) then it would reduce the chances of the virus mutating. Part of the reason that the data is changing so much over time is that the virus IS mutating, mostly because it's still being passed around so much. If we can (in any way, be that masks, distancing, vaccination) reduce the spread, we reduce the mutations and therefore reduce the problem of "OMG this vaccine doesn't even work on this new strain!?!?!".

The flu virus has a vaccine and yes, guess what? - you have to have a new vaccine each year, and you might still get flu. There are different variants and the vaccine you got last year won't necessarily still be helping your immune system this year, or the flu has mutated and your old vaccine isn't as effective against it, or even the new vaccine that you get doesn't protect you fully against the variant of the flu that you come across. I don't see everyone complaining about getting a flu jab every year... even if they still get a (mild) flu.

Final thing re. vaccinated people being in hospitals: yes, that's how numbers work. It's not "fishy" or "suspicious". If you have 100 people and zero of them are vaccinated, and 50 people are in hospital then that's 50 unvaccinated people in the hospital. If half of your population is vaccinated, and you have 50 people in hospital, it's probable that around 20 of them are vaccinated and 30 unvaccinated. Or 10 and 40. If 90% of your population is vaccinated then obviously anyone who *does* end up in hospital is more likely to be vaccinated. Just because there are more people who ARE vaccinated, than not. It's really not the argument you think it is.

This does not seem very trustworthy, it’s basically a over dramatic video (with a dramatic background music “In The Hall of the Mountain King”) where they show titles of articles (some aren’t even known to be real) (not in chronological order, I saw one of the dates was regarding the first DNA vaccine in July) showing the efficacy rate going down. As this virus mutates, you are going to need more booster shots etc because of how it’s changed. Just like every year the flu vaccine is slightly different because the virus is different.

If you look into Sean Hannity’s account, it’s all just criticizing the Biden administration, meaning this is a very biased source

I think you guys missed the point.

Yes, of the course the data will change, exactly why you shouldn't rush to judgement or rush to mandate that every single person regardless of their medical history get it.

You can make excuses all you want but nothing about how this was rolled out is scientific. It's all been political. That's why people who said "I would never touch a vaccine that Donald Trump made" are now the people pushing the hardest for you to get it, whether or not you want it.

As far as the flu goes, I've never felt the need to get the flu vaccine. I had the flu one time as a teenager and I have never had it since. However, 1 month after having a flu vaccine clinic, in which over 80% of my company got the flu vaccine, we have had over 50% of the people come down with the flu and been out of work for over 3 days. For every 1 person who didn't get the flu vaccine and caught the flu, 4 more who got the vaccine did get the flu. Nor did they have milder cases. In fact, the people who had the longest time out of work were both vaccinated.

Now, I am sure you all will cry anecdotal, but the flu vaccines have been around much longer and should theoretically work better. I didn't catch the flu despite sitting near two people that did catch it.

You trust "God", you don't trust "Science". Science is not to be worshiped, Science is not to be believed. Belief, trust, and worship is for a religion. For all the times, that science has been wrong, you'd think people would use their brain and realize science is not infallible, science is not certainty. Science is only a method for asking questions and trying to look for evidence to support a theory. Nothing more, and nothing less.

I fully support anyone making any decision they feel is appropriate on this topic, but I cringe at seeing so many people giving up their own mental abilities to blindly "trust the science".

Since Pfizer and the FDA are trying to deny everyone's ability to see the information that they submitted to the FDA for approval, you should be worried. If it is exactly as they claim it to be, why do they need to hide?

Oh and you only need a tetanus shot every 10 years... not every 6 months.

According to some virologists, the variants have been accelerated by the fact that the virus is not taking a natural course of a virus and the population being vaccinated so quickly, allowing for more variants.

I'm not going to argue with you because there really is no point, but I'll just say one thing again: the world is not America You can't make statements about it being "political" and a vaccine "Donald Trump made", when literally the rest of the entire world is still existing over here and not giving two proverbial hoots about your politics (unless you threaten to nuke us I guess). You can't say that a vaccine is some sort of politicised propaganda when you're referring to the literal rest of the world here. WE REALLY DON'T CARE. Countless other governments have introduced vaccination programmes, they've been successful. Some have had people nervous about it, all of them have their own scientists and their own political agenda. There are over 200 countries that are rolling out a whole variety of vaccines for this. Could this forum please stop thinking that the world revolves around the US?

Regarding your first statement, the people saying "I'd never get it" and are now pushing for it? You do realise that this is what you've been arguing for in the last several posts; that people should be able to research, open their minds to new evidence, and therefore change their minds? Hm.

It's a really tiny one, you honestly can't feel it at all. Just look in the other direction and you won't even notice that they've done it :) Of all of the vaccines I have had I honestly think this one was the least painful in terms of the actual jab.

There was no new research that came out the day after the election to make these people change their minds. Their minds were changed as soon as they got into power.

I'm aware other countries exist but to deny that they watch what the US does and follow suit is kind of naive. Also, again I should remind you that the person who started this is from America, the person who called my comment political when it is anything but also from America. I was responding to that.

I got my first shot yesterday and was kinda nervous. It was (like they always say for shot), a quick pinch (like if you were to accidentally put a finger in one of those black and silver clips, but on a smaller scale) for one second then it’s over. I didn’t even look cause I had to pull my sweater up over my arm :)
