Ok,this is my bin cage tour, the first cage it’s a 106 qt bin,I don’t know the exact measurements, but it’s at least more than 410 sq inches (probably 434 sq inches) and the other its a 16 gallon bin, with 165 sq inches (175 with the high bedding) I’m gonna add some chew toys later

What I recommend is adding a lot more enrichment. Something like grapevine wood, cork logs, sprays, forage, herbs, and making it a lot more crowded in general.  Also, for Syrians, 10+ inches of bedding is generally recommended. Also, hamsters tend to like multi chamber hides.

I would maybe try to go for something like these:

Your hamster is so cute!

Hi, your hamster is adorable!! I'd recommend adding a lot more enrichment and bedding, like ♥️ ♥ said. It also doesn't look like you have a sand bath in there, if you could add one that'd be great.

the second cage has a lot of bedding, but I have very little bedding and my mom says it’s a lot and it’s very expensive (it’s carefresh) i have a sand bath for my gerbil (it’s sadly in 2 critter trail connected ):,I’m trying to get a bin for him) but the box it’s too small for a Syrian (also gerbils need 100% sand baths because they are desertice,Syrian hamsters are more in “sub-tropical environments”,I’m trying to get chew toys also

How I obtain herbs

There's stores on etsy that have great forage mixes, like ChubbyHamsterCheeks

I would try telling your mom why hamsters need more bedding to thrive.  You can also try telling your mom why hamsters need more space than people think. Also, bendy bridges and more hides can provide a little more enrichment for your hamster and gerbils.  The links that I sent earlier help with ideas on enrichment

You’ve been posting a lot about getting a hedgehog and about getting another hamster after yours passes away, but I’d encourage you to improve your gerbil’s living situation before you get any more animals. I know it’s exciting to get new pets, but making sure all of your current ones are being taken care of before getting another is part of being a responsible owner. Waiting to get an animal you really want can make finally getting it all that more rewarding and exciting.

Also, do you have lids for your bins? I know sometimes people will take them off for pictures. Hamsters can be very crafty little things when they’re determined enough. I’ve heard of hamsters blocking their wheels from spinning and shimmying up them to escape.

Hi !
I would also reccomend more bedding, if you can. Maybe even in both bins.
Maybe some more tunnels, and grapevine wood is a great idea :)
Maybe a bowl with another kind of bedding, and If you don't have one (i couldn't see) a sand bath is important;)

Well, good your gerbils have sand, at least. Good Lucky with getting them a bin!
Hamsters really should have sand to. By rolling in it, they remove the excess of oils etc producer by their skin. Its very important, and no huge sand area is needed, just a little bowl if its the only possible right now :)

I will probably get him a bin,it is alone, but gerbils don’t always need pairs,I have the money and will be a 106qt bin (minimum for gerbils its 360 sq inches and a 106 qt bin its bigger than 410 sq inches!its perfect) that in my Home Depot costs like 20 dollars

I would advise against just adding bins, especially for chewers and escape artist like gerbils. Is it possible you could get just one large cage?

I agree with Remy, I would work on the animals current lives before getting more.

I totally get that. I have 6 siblings and in a few months I will have seven and two are in college so I understand your situation.  :veryhappy:   Victoria Raechel has a good video on Having a hamster on a budget. That might help!
