So awesome to find a post about the CHA on here I first become interested in hamsters again when I found Linda's hamstery page online. I had actually arranged to get a Syrian hamster from her last spring, but she stopped responding to my emails for some reason. Anyway I met her at the end of her fall show in Lake Forest, and her hamsters are so beautiful! I'm planning to enter my long-haired male in her spring show at the Pet Expo.

meganeliz: You can try email Linda again if she doesn't repond in a few days, at least that's what she told me. Seems like she gets tons of email sometimes and can accidentally overlook a few sometimes. I'm planning to volunteer at the CHA booth for the Pet Expo, hope to see you there and come say hi!

Pet Expo at Costa Mesa (Orange County Fairground) is coming up this weekend, the hamster show will be on saturday the 20th. Is anyone coming (other than meganeliz)? I'll be bringing a few of my robos.

Well, Pet Expo is sort of an "interesting" experience with so many different people there... Maybe I'll post something about it after the expo is finished today.

I brought Bumpy, Sprite, and my robo pups (entered two, but was persuaded to add another two at the last minute ). Show result from the CHA Spring Show yesterday:



It was Bumpy's 2nd show and he did very well! Roborovski Best In Class and Dwarf Hamster Best In Show in the Standard Class. He also took Dwarf Hamster Best Pet which was a surprise to me. I guess it helps that Pet Class was judged first so he was still on his best behavior early in the day.

I didn't take Sprite last show since he was one of my fastest robo that wouldn't sit still, but he really mellowed out over the last few months and had a late growth spurt so his size filled out. I had to check before I load him into his carrier that he's on a "good hair day", and good thing he was. Sprite took 2nd in each class after Bumpy.

2 out of the 4 pups placed 4th and 5th in Standard Class as well as Most Unusual Color/Marking 1st and 2nd in Fun Class.

Overall a pretty good day for the hams.

Thank you! Yeah, I really wish there's more people in the hamster fancy so we can get more regional clubs set up and have some hamster shows!
