Are you overlaying mic audio with backing tracks? You might be able to set the recording device in the windows settings as the mixer output, instead of the mic output, then just play the backing track and start singing.
That's what I'm gonna try tomorrow at least :)

Lol. what ? I do not like doing hobby things professionally, for some reason.
I just go with it. Don't try and make it sound better, you know ? what's me is
....well, me. I can't change that. I've always done this. Music teacher had
drilled it into my head so it stuck.

I made one too!
I sang a song in japanese directly onto the website and uploaded one recorded on audacity in portuguese.

I have a cold (or something), and I can't breathe through my nose, so i'm failing miserable at holding my breath, lol.
I will record something better when I'm fit.
Or not.

It's great that you're liking the thread idea and posting cool songs everyone!
I followed you all back on Boo!

Chris do you mind if I also cover that song by Seal? I remember singing it on the game sing star on the ps2 long ago, it really brings back memories!
Can't wait to hear you sing the whole thing too. :)

And wow Ninja, you're really working hard on this haha!
I only sing over a youtube instrumental (karaoke if it's available) version of the song and record it online.
A bit lazy of me. :innocent:

Everyone's so enthusiastic! :D I created an account too (same username) but I don't even have a mic and my singing is, ahem. Bad? Anyway I shall try to get a mic and maybe record it when nobody is at home. :P Meanwhile I shall follow everyone and listen to your tracks!

Trust me. one of my vocal teachers a couple of years ago.
any assignments, we'd record then send in. He wanted to
actually hear the background noise and see if you were
cheating.

Come on peoples! Moar music please! :D By the way, what are you all using to record yourself? A mic? Headset? Just curious.

Everyone will be out of the house on Tuesday, so IF I record anything it will be then, and IF I record anything it will be all of 0.2 seconds long. IF. :cheeky:

I've started amassing backing track versions of songs I like in a youtube playlist :P So I'll be posting them at some point with me singing over the top xD

0.2 seconds is more than the courage I have  Who knows, maybe you're a better singer than you think :goodvibes:

Oh noooo! Believe me, I'm not one of those delusional people who think they are good and expect people to think so too. I promise I am doing you all a favor by not uploading anything here.
But thank you though. LOL!

But you might be one of those people who think you're not good ^_^
I was super shy about posting stuff, too. I still have yet to post a whole song, but I've got good reviews from the few short clips I have done, and that's a real confidence boost :)

Ok, well here's my problem. I can't seem to project very loudly and my voice is very shakey. :embarassed: I know what is and isn't off tune, but trying to control my voice to project how it needs to be is a disaster and trying to use the diaphram just doesn't even work! I have such a limited range otherwise the singing turns into more like a whisper.

Everyone who has posted so far seems to have the ability to project loud enough and your voices don't creak or anything! *JEALOUS* Um...HELP?

EDIT: Sorry to hijack the thread with my question!

I can't project well either :) I just have my face very close to the mic. I still try though ^_^ It's fun to practice in the shower or bath, too. The room acoustics help you hear yourself better.
You can record test pieces on Audioboo like I've done, and if they sound ok, then upload them. You can review your recording before you upload, which helps a ton :D
